Pardo Leads the River; More Players Hop In

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 2,500 from the hijack and was called by Juan Pardo in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Pardo checked over to Chidwick, who bet 5,000. Pardo called and both players checked the {5-Diamonds} turn.

Pardo led out for 12,000 on the {10-Hearts} river and Chidwick used a time bank before giving up his hand.

Mike Watson, who won the €50,000 High Roller early this morning, is among a group of players who have joined the field, bringing the total number of entries to 32.

Artur Martirosian

The action was picked up on the river in a pot of roughly 25,000 on a board showing {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}. David Peters put some thought in before betting 24,000 into Artur Martirosian.

Without much deliberation, Martirosian made the call and the cards were tabled. Peters rolled over {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for the turned straight while Martirosian showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the bigger straight, taking down the early pot.
