Rabinowitz Gets There

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a heads-up turn board of {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}, George Rotariu checked to Darren Rabinowitz, who then moved all in, covering Rotariu.

After a brief stint in the tank, Rotariu set a stack of chips across the felt, signaling a call, putting himself at risk.

George Rotariu: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Darren Rabinowitz: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Although Rotariu was ahead of Rabinowitz's flush draw with his pocket tens, the {k-Diamonds} on the river gave Rabinowitz the superior pair of kings to take down the pot and eliminated Rotariu,

Kaukua Finds Ace to Double

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Before the blinds went up, Tae Hoon Han opened to 3,000 from the hijack, Julien Martini flatted on the button, Morten Per Varbaek Mortensen called in the small blind, and Toni Kaukua jammed for about 27,500 in the big blind. Han called, while Martini and Mortensen folded.

Toni Kaukua: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Tae Hoon Han: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Han was the favorite to add to his fairly sizable stack on the {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, but the {a-Diamonds} hit the felt on the turn to put Kaukua ahead, and the {q-Spades} confirmed the result to secure Kaukua's double.

Suarez Leads Turn, Shows an Ace

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Tolly Sakellariou opened to 3,500 in middle position and Juan Manuel Gonzalez Suarez defended out of the big blind.

Suarez checked on the flop of {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts} and Sakellariou bet 4,500. Suarez called. The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and Suarez led out for 8,500. Sakellariou called.

Suarez led out again for 19,500 on the {8-Hearts} river and Sakellariou tanked for about a minute and folded. Suarez showed an ace as he raked in the pot.

At the same table, Norway's Johnny Lodden sits with a healthy stack of around 210,000.

Fonseca Takes it Down

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Zlatin Penev raised to 1700 under-the-gun but was immediately three-bet to 3800 by Luis Fonseca in early position.

Penev made the call after the rest of the table folded and the two heads-up opponents went to a flop of {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}.

Both players opted to check and they then saw a {k-Spades} turn, to which Penev checked again, but this time Fonseca bet 5,000 and received a fold from Penev.

Margets No More

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Leo Margets
Leo Margets

Leo Margets was in a heads-up pot against Pavel Plesuv on a board reading {3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Plesuv moved all in and Margets considered calling off with her remaining stack of around 26,000. Eventually, she called.

Leo Margets: {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Pavel Plesuv: {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

"So many outs," Margets said with her flush and open-ended straight draws.

But the {a-Clubs} on the river did not improve Margets' hand and the Spanish World Series of Poker bracelet winner was eliminated.

Martini Faces River Jam

Julien Martini

On a {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} board, Mehdi Senhaji was in the big blind and check-called for 6,500 against Julien Martini in the hijack.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Senhaji led with enough chips to put his French opponent to the test for his remaining stack of roughly 35,000.

Martini said a few words and deliberated for a bit, but ultimately sent his cards into the muck to concede the pot.
