Volkmann Among Latest Casualties

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Bruno Volkmann started as one of the big stacks but the Brazilian was just sent to the rail. Gangzhou Hu dealt the final blow with {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} versus {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} when the Frenchman spiked a set on the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} board after Volkmann had started the hand with a short stack if around 40,000.

New big stack on his former table is Mikita Badziakouski, who entered on Day 2 and joined the current chip leaders within the first two levels of play.

Karam Sends Dvoress Packing

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

After arriving at the table, Daniel Dvoress and Ramzi Karam had all of their chips in the middle in a classic coin flip scenario. Dvoress was the player at risk for around 65,000 and needed to hold.

Daniel DvoresS: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Ramzi Karam: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop of {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} favored Dvoress who was in the lead with his pair of jacks. However, the {a-Clubs} on the turn hit Karam and Dvoress was unable to retake the lead on the {3-Hearts} river.

Rezaei Takes Out Two Short Stacks

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Armin Rezaei was sitting with a below-average chip stack but there were two others that had less chips than him at the table. Rezaei happened to get his stack in the middle against both players, Damien Pilkington-Lewis and David Splettstoesser.

Rezaei had the best of it with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} against the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} of Splettstoesser and {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Pilkington-Lewis. The board ran out clean for Rezaei who scored the double knockout and brought his stack closer to the tournament average.

Lauck Doubles Through Atoui

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Kamel Atoui min-raised in the last hand of the previous level and then called a three-bet to 13,000 by Jonas Lauck on the button. The {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop brought a check by Atoui and Lauck made it 9,000 to go only for Atoui to check-raise, making it 26,000 total to go.

Lauck stuck around and then got his last 26,500 in after the {9-Hearts} turn when Atoui led for 25,000 and called the last few chips on top.

Jonas Lauck: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Kamel Atoui: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

The {4-Diamonds} river was a formality as Lauck had already locked up the double.

Tamon Nakamura
Tamon Nakamura

The cards were already on their backs as Tamon Nakamura was at risk for what appeared to be around 35,000. He was looked up by Claas Segebrecht and the cards were revealed.

Tamon Nakamura: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Claas Segebrecht: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board gave Segebrecht no extra sweat as the pocket pair remained ahead all the way. Erkan Soenmez mentioned in table chat that he had folded pocket fours.

Loopoo

Hugo Pingray was spotted raking in the chips and provided the details on how he knocked out French online casino game streamer "Loopoo".

According to Pingray, he defended the big blind and check-called for 4,500 on the {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. On the {2-Spades} turn, Pingray had bet 13,000 and called the shove by "Loopoo" with the {q-Hearts}{9-Spades} for queens and deuces.

"Loopoo" tabled the {a-Spades}{8-Spades} and a brick on the river sent "Loopoo" to the rail.
