Baumann Beats Sammartino in Showdown

Level 7 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Joining the action on the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Gaelle Baumann in the big blind check-called a bet by Dario Sammartino in the cutoff. She then checked the {k-Clubs} on the turn and Sammartino bet another 18,000 for Baumann to call. Both opted to check the {4-Spades} on the river and Baumann revealed the {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for queen-high.

Sammartino had a dry smile on the face, double-checked his cards and sent them flying into the muck.

In the meanwhile, Alex Kulev has taken over the lead on the same table and approaches three times the starting stack.

Hissou Chips Up Against Nakamura

Level 7 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Tamon Nakamura raised to 5,500 in the cutoff and was called by Claas Segebrecht on the button, Sirzat Hissou in the small blind and Yannick Schumacher in the big blind. The quartet checked all the way to the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts} river on which Hissou bet 16,000.

Only Nakamura called but mucked when Hissou rolled over the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for the king-high straight.

Danchev Essentially Doubles Through Volkmann

Level 7 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a battle small blind versus under the gun, Bruno Volkmann bet 14,000 on the {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Spades} turn and Dimitar Danchev called from two seats over. Volkmann checked the {k-Clubs} on the river and Danchev bet 43,500 with a single T-500 chip behind. The reluctant call by Volkmann followed and Danchev held the winning hand in {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for kings and jacks.

Heath Topples De Souza

Level 8 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ben Heath raised to 5,500 and Belarmino De Souza called on the button. The {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop was checked and Heath bet the {q-Diamonds} turn for 8,000. De Souza raised to 25,500 for Heath to call and the {8-Spades} fell on the river. Both players checked once more and Heath flashed an ace-queen for the top two pair to rake in the pot.

Rodrigo Selouan
Rodrigo Selouan

Following a 5,500 raise by Jimmy Guerrero, Marius Gierse three-bet to 15,500 and Rodrigo Selouan then jammed for 85,000 from the very next seat. Guerrero got out of the way while Gierse called to set up the following coin flip.

Rodrigo Selouan: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Marius Gierse: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The jacks not only held up but further improved to a full house on the {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board for the Brazilian to double.

Segebrecht Doubles Through Schumacher

Level 8 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Claas Segebrecht ended up all-in and at risk preflop out of the big blind for the last 74,000 and had the best of it with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Yannick Schumacher was trailing with the {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} but spiked a flush draw on the {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Nothing changed with the {q-Hearts} turn and {8-Diamonds} river as Segebrecht on the other side of the table inquired "did you have a flush draw?"

"I had," Schumacher replied very briefly.

Late Exit for Imsirovic

Level 8 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ali Imsirovic was caught on a move as he jammed the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts} river and Dario Sammartino called all-in. The {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} of Imsirovic had missed a gutshot and only made the bottom pair, which Sammartino had beat holding the {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Down to the final 20,000, Imsirovic got it in right after in the penultimate hand of the night with the {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Sammartino snap-called with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and remained ahead throughout the {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} board to send Imsirovic to the rail.
