Souvay Paid For Turn Shove

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Gurgen Arsenyan raised from under the gun and was called by Francisco Agullo, Eric Souvay and Jeroen Welling.

The flop came 83A. Action checked to Souvay, who made it 5,200 to go. Only Welling made the call.

The turn was the J and Souvay pushed all in. Welling made the call with slightly more chips behind. Souvay showed A5 for a pair of aces with a flush draw and Welling showed J6 for a pair of jacks with a lower flush draw.

The river came the 4 and Souvay held with his ace high to win the pot.

Samuel Sends Stone Out With a Set

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Erich Tedeschi limped from early position Jacob Stone raised to 2,600 from middle postion. Samuel Ju called from middle position and Tedeschi called as well.

The flop came 2J7 and action was checked to Stone, who bet 2,200. Tedeschi folded, but Stone then check-raised to 7,500. Ju called.

The 4 fell on the turn and Stone continued for a 9,000 bet. Ju raised all in for just under 30,000 and Stone called all in for less.

Ju had Stone drawing dead with his set of sevens and a meaningless 4 completed the board — eliminating Stone from contention late in the evening.

Lars Eriksson raised from under the gun and was called by Kevin Ferrer. Cedric Bernard pushed all in from the hijack and Eriksson isolated with a shove of his own. Ferrer folded and two players flipped their cards, with Bernard at risk.

The board ran out 29253. Neither player improved and so Eriksson held with ace high to win the pot. Bernard was eliminated from the tournament.

Avelino Shoves on Calzoni

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Matteo Calzoni opened to 2,200 from middle position and was called by Peterson Machado in the cutoff. Breno Avelino then three-bet to 7,000 from the small blind and both Calzoni and Machado called.

Avelino downbet for 4,000 on the 46J flop and only Calzoni called.

Both players checked on the 9 turn; however, Avelino announced he was all in after the Q completed the board. Calzoni folded after a bit of thought and Avelino took down the pot without a showdown.

Lunde Outkicks Yaghmai to Double Up

Martin Lunde shoved all in from under the gun with around 10 big blinds. He was called by Nariman Yaghmai, who had him covered. Players flipped their cards.

The board ran out 345AJ. Both players paired their ace and Lunde's king kicker played to give him the pot and the double up. Yaghmai was left short stacked.

Miranda's Ladies Send Marinelli Out

Manuel Miranda opened from early position and action folded to Dario Marinelli in the hijack, who shoved for his last 8,100. It was folded back to Miranda, who called to put Marinelli at risk.

The 357J9 runout improved Marinelli to a pair of jacks, but they weren't enough against Miranda's queens and Marinelli was eliminated.

Ogita Whiffs Draws and Busts to Bjorbaek

Daisuke Ogita raised to 2,500 from late position and Eirik Bjorbaek reraised to 5,500 from the button. Ogita called and two players went to the flop.

The dealer turned 64J. Ogita checked and Bjorbaek bet 3,500, which Ogita called.

The turn came the 7. Ogita checked and Bjorbaek moved all in for 21,000. Ogita made the call and the cards were turned on their backs.

Ogita had 87 for a pair of sevens with a flush draw and backdoor straight draw. Bjorbaek showed QQ for a pocket pair of queens.

The river came the J and Ogita whiffed his draws. Bjorbaek held to win the pot and Ogita was eliminated from the tournament.
