Kalifa Spikes the Flop, Santos Hits One-Outer on the Turn

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Samuel Kalifa was all in for 27,000 from early position and was called by Angelos Pettas in middle position before Jordan Santos shoved for around 40,000. Pettas called to put both opponents at risk.

Samuel Kalifa: JJ
Jordan Santos: AA
Angelos Pettas: A10

Santos had woken up with aces and was poised to scoop the pot until the J76 flop gave Kalifa a set. The turn, though, brought the A and Santos hit the last ace in the deck to move back in front.

The river came the 7 and both Kalifa and Santos took out their phones and snapped photos of the board before Kalifa made his exit.

Minolfi Sends Neagu to the Rail

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Mihai Neagu raised under the gun to 11,000. Both the hijack and Luigi Minolfi on the button made the call.

Neagu continued for 16,000 on a board of 62A. Only Minolfi called.

The 8 turned and Neagu bet again, this time for 30,000. Minolfi raised to 75,000; enough to put Neagu all in. Neagu made the call.

Mihai Neagu: AK
Luigi Minolfi: A6

The river fell an inconsequential 5 and Neagu was sent to the rail.

Four Doubles & One Suckout

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ewen Trevidy
Ewen Trevidy

There were lots of groans in the tournament area as five all in and calls resulted in four consecutive double-ups. On the fifth hand, Tudorel Costache found himself at risk after calling off in the big blind after a shove from Ewen Trevidy in the small blind.

Tudorel Costache: 1010
Ewen Trevidy: 83

There were some snickers as the floor announced Trevidy's holding, but the room got tense as the flop of 268 paired his eight and the 4 turn gave him a flush draw. The 9 on the river then gave him the flush and Costache was eliminated in brutal fashion one player off the money.
