Daniyar Aubakirov opened to 240,000 first-to-act and was three-bet by Carl Shaw in the cutoff to 900,000. Action folded back around to Aubakirov, who called.
Aubakirov checked to Shaw on the 10♦K♥9♣ flop and he continued for 550,000 Aubakirov then check-raised to 1,400,000 and Shaw called
The A♥ fell on the turn and Aubakirov went back to checking, which was met with a 1,700,000 bet from Shaw. Aubakirov announced he was all in for approximately 6,000,000 and Shaw snap-called to put Aubakirov at risk.
Daniyar Aubakirov: 9♠9♥
Carl Shaw: Q♠J♣
Shaw had flopped the nuts against Aubakirov, who was looking for the board to pair to remain in contention.
"This is a big one," Shaw said as he awaited the river.
The dealer brought the 4♠, which got an exhilarated "Yes!" from Shaw, who scooped a massive pot and eliminated Aubakirov in 14th place.
Santiago Plante put in 675,000 on the button, leaving himself just 220,000 behind, and Andre Akkari called in the small blind. The flop came A♥Q♥8♣ and Akkari led out for 300,000.
Plante looked around at the other table before calling for the rest of his chips.
Santiago Plante: A♦4♠
Andre Akkari: K♣Q♦
Plante was ahead with his flopped pair of aces, and he remained in front on the 7♣ turn and 6♥ river to secure the double up.
On the hand after busting Daniyar Aubakirov, Carl Shaw opened to 220,000 from the hijack, then called when small blind Oshri Lahmani shoved all in for 850,000.
Oshri Lahmani: K♣Q♦
Carl Shaw: A♦Q♠
Shaw had Lahmani dominated as the Israeli's rail began calling for a king heading to the 5♦10♠10♦ flop. The 3♥ turn provided no help, while the 7♦ river sealed his elimination in 13th place as Shaw claimed yet another victim.
Simon Wiciak raised to 250,000 from under the gun holding K♦6♦ and Curtis Knight three-bet A♠J♥ to 800,000 next to act. Joao Sydenstricker used a time bank before folding 10♥10♣ as action went back on Wiciak.
He then four-bet to 1,500,000 and Knight went into his time banks before mucking.
