Grafton Gets a Fold

Level 9 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Erik Seidel opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Sam Grafton defended from the big blind.

Grafton check-called a 10,000 bet from Seidel on the Q64 flop. Both players checked the 3 turn.

On the 7 river Grafton bet 35,000 which was enough to force a fold from Seidel.

Pique Shoves on Yan

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alejandro Lococo raised to 11,000 in the cutoff and Gerard Pique called on the button before David Yan three-bet to 43,000 in the small blind. Lococo folded, but Pique stuck around to see the 6A2 flop.

Yan led out for another 20,000 and Pique called. The turn came the 4 and Yan bet 59,000.

Pique came back with an all-in shove for 120,000 and Yan snap-folded.

O'Dwyer Fills Up on Yan

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With the board reading Q8KQ2 and around 100,000 in the middle, David Yan checked and Steve O'Dwyer bet 68,000. Yan made the call.

O'Dwyer showed down KQ for a full house and Yan quickly sent his hand into the muck.

Toma Picks Off Thorel

Heads-up on a board of 8883, Jean-Noel Thorel bet 30,000 from the cutoff and Tsugunari Toma called in the small blind.

The river came the J and Thorel moved all in for 115,000. Toma quickly called and Thorel showed K10 for just the eights on the board with a king-kicker.

Toma turned over AJ for a rivered full house as he sent Thorel to the rail.

Grafton Has "Glimmer of Hope" Dashed

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Tom Orpaz raised to 12,000 on the button and Sam Grafton called in the small blind.

The flop came 9K2 and Orpaz bet another 12,000. Grafton took the chips to call and slammed them down near Orpaz's bet.

Grafton also checked the 2 turn and Orpaz bet 30,000. Grafton again called and both players checked the 5 river.

Grafton showed 44, but Orpaz had KJ to win the pot with two pair.

"Gave me a glimmer of hope," Grafton told him.

"If I check it means I have it. I never give up," Orpaz replied.

Saliba Five-Bet Shoves

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Gerard Pique opened to 10,000 from under the gun and David Yan three-bet to 28,000 from the hijack. Steve O'Dwyer then four-bet to 64,000 from the cutoff only for Justin Saliba to move all in for 240,000 from the button, folding out Pique and Yan.

O'Dwyer asked for a count and thought about his decision for roughly 30 seconds before folding as well, allowing Saliba to take down a big pot without having to see a flop.

Grafton Bests Orpaz in Battle of the Blinds

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Tom Orpaz limped in from the small blind and Sam Grafton checked from the big blind.

The flop came 448. Orpaz checked and Grafton bet 5,000 which was called by Orpaz.

Action repeated itself on the 6 turn with Orpaz check-calling another bet from Grafton, this time for 15,000.

Orpaz checked again on the 10 river and Grafton bet 35,000. Orpaz made the call.

Grafton tabled Q8 for two pair, eights and fours which was good enough to take the pot.

Pique Folds the River to Yan

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Gerard Pique bet 12,000 from the button on a flop of 10Q4 and David Yan called in the small blind.

The turn came the 6 and Pique bet another 22,000 after Yan checked. Yan called once more and the 4 fell on the river.

Yan then led out for 23,000 and Pique burned a time bank before folding.

Justin Saliba entered the tournament during the break and took his seat at this table.
