Taherkhani Checks That Twice?

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Boris Angelov opened in middle position to 3,000 before the action made it to Kanan Taherkhani in the small blind who put in a three-bet to 9,000. Angelov called and they were off to a flop heads up.

The AK6 flop hit the felt and Taherkhani continued for 6,000. Angelov called and the dealer pealed off the 3 on the turn.

Taherkhani slowed down with a check and Angelov checked back. The J landed on the river and after a little thought Taherkhani checked once more. Angelov snap checked back and Taherkhani tabled an interesting hand.

It appeared he was getting very trappy as he rolled over AA for top set that was checked twice. He still scooped and is sitting with a very nice stack early in the day.

Boika Hangs On

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Aliaksei Boika started today with less than a starting stack, and he was even further down to a mere 3,500 chips when he put them all in from middle position. Ehsam Amiri then rejammed from the cutoff for 29,000 and the rest of the table folded.

Aliaksei Boika: Q9
Ehsan Amiri: A5

Boika flopped an open-ended straight draw on 7J10, and while the 7 turn did not help him, the K river completed the draw to double him up to six big blinds.

Kaladjurdjevic Knocks Out Leantzis

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded to Christos Leantzis who moved all in off a short stack from the cutoff for about 18,000. The button folded and then action was on the big stack of [Removed:452] in the small blind who called. The big blind got out of the way and they were off to a full board with the cards on their backs.

Christos Leantzis: A7
[Removed:452]: AK

The full board ran out Q94K7 and although both players hit two pair it was the Kaladjurdjevic who would win with his aces and kings. Leantzis hit the rail prior to the money.

Bedir Gives Fraction of Huge Stack to Livschitz

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

A flop of A69 was spread on the table, with around 12,000 chips gathered in the pot. Victoria Livschitz checked from the big blind to her opponent, Day 1 chipleader Slehaddin Bedir, in the hijack.

Bedir made a bet of 4,000, after which Livschitz promptly went all in for 29,000 chips. Bedir used one time bank extension before shrugging and putting in the call.

Victoria Livschitz: 87
Selahaddin Bedir: A7

Livschitz had a combo draw while Bedir was sitting on top pair. The 4 did nothing for either player, but the Q river brought the flush in for Livschitz, who doubled up,

"Sometimes I lose," concluded Bedir, who had not done much of that thus far on Day 2, judging by his stack of more than five times the average.

Yokosawa Yeets Rocco out of the High Roller

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Masato Yokosawa

In a modest pot, there was a board of 5AJ7 in the middle. Masato Yokosawa and Michael Rocco were heads up when the former checked from the big blind before the latter bet 4,000 from middle position. Yokosawa called and the 4 river brought the fourth club on the board.

Yokosawa now led out for 8,500 chips, enough to put Rocco all in. Rocco mulled it over for a while before slamming in his final chips, revealing [a9c] for a middling flush.

However, Yokosawa played the higher flush with K8 and knocked out his opponent.

"All In With the Diapers"

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Cards went on their backs on Table 4 with Eros Calderone, at risk from the small blind for 12,000 chips, and Dumitru Pora in the big blind, who put... a box of diapers on the table. "I'm all in with the diapers," he said.

Eros Calderone: A2
Dumitru Pora: AK

The diapers didn't bring the lucky Pora needed, as on 27J25, Calderone hit trips to double through him. However, Calderon was eliminated a few hands later.

Koloszar Leads River

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Marius Kudzmanas opened in early position to 4,000 and got called in the cutoff by Dario Sammartino and in the small blind by Daniel Koloszar.

The J67 flop landed and action checked to Sammartino in the cutoff who went for a bet of 4,500. Koloszar called and Kudzmanas got out of the way.

The 8 landed on the turn and both players opted to slow down and check on their way to an A river.

Koloszar took a moment and then gathered enough chips for a bet of 21,000. Sammartino folded without hesitation and Koloszar scooped.
