Lucas Scafini raised to 6,000 in the hijack, then called when Simon Wiciak moved all in for 24,500 on the button.

Wiciak aggressively turned his cards over and shot out of his seat as soon as Scafini called. The flop came 3♦K♣6♦ and Wiciak made top set to take a firm grip on the hand.

Scafini hit the 8♠ on the turn, but no other miracles arrived on the 3♠ river as Wiciak doubled up.

"Back to back still alive," Carl Shaw, who finished third to Wiciak at EPT Barcelona last month, said as he watched the action from another table.

Pavlou Doubles; Gulseven Folds Jacks

Teun Mulder opened to 6,500 from early positon and was called by Erdal Gulseven from the hijack. Marios Pavlou then jammed for 30,500 from the button. Mulder announced all-in as the big stack and Gulseven went into the tank. He had 155,000 behind and agonized over the spot before letting his hand go.

Mulder paired up on the A♣K♣10♣ flop but Pavlou improved to a set of tens. The 9♦ turn and 8♣ river completed the board. Gulseven breathed a sigh of relief and said that he folded pocket jacks.

In the final hand of the previous level, Pete Chen checked from the big blind to Joao Vieira in the hijack on a board of 8♦A♦10♥3♠ Vieira checked back and the pair saw the 2♦ river roll off.

Chen now made a bet of 15,000 into the pot of 22,500 and Vieira tanked for several minutes before putting in a call. Chen showed A♠2♥ for two pair and Vieira quickly mucked his cards as they went on their break.
