Players in the €100,000 EPT Super High Roller are heading for their second break of the day. There are now 28 entrants and 26 players remain. When action resumes, blinds will be on 1,000/2,500 with a 2,500 big blind ante.
The action was caught on the turn, with 81,000 in the pot on the Q♣7♣4♣A♠ board. Steve O'Dwyer checked from the big blind, and Mike Watson checked back from the button. On the 5♣ river, O'Dwyer bet 40,000 which sent Watson into the tank.
Watson used up of three of time chips before making the call. O'Dwyer had the 10♠10♦ for a pair of tens but Watson had the winner with his A♦2♦, which was good for a pair of aces.
Kayhan Mokri raised from middle position and Timothy Adams called in the small blind.
The flop came K♥3♥9♥. Adams checked and Mokri bet out 3,000, which Adams called. The turn was the A♥. Adams checked again and Mokri bet out for 17,000. Adams called.
The river was the K♣. Adams checked once more and this time Mokri fired out 88,000. Adams went into the tank, using three time banks as he considered his decision. He eventually made the call.
Mokri showed 9♠9♦. He had flopped a set and the king on the river gave him a full house. After paying out such a large river bet, Adams' stack fell below the 100,000 mark and Mokri chipped up to over 400,000.
A big pot was brewing between Artur Martirosian and Justin Bonomo with 76,000 in the pot on the J♠8♥8♣Q♥J♣ completed board. Martirosian checked from early position and went deep into the tank after Bonomo moved all in for 63,000 from the cutoff.
Martirosian used up several time banks before calling. Bonomo had a full house with his 9♠8♠ while Martirosian made the hero call at the wrong time as he had A♣K♠.
The action was caught on the river with the Q♠9♠K♥3♠6♣ board on show. Adrian Mateos checked in the big blind before Vicente Delgado bet 75,000 into a pot of around 80,000. Mateos, the bigger stack, moved all in. Delgado counted out his chips to reveal he had 141,000 behind and decided to keep them for another hand as he folded.
Santhosh Suvarna, who was eliminated by Mateos earlier, decided to buy back in and found himself seated in between Alex Kulev and Mateos for a second time.
Juan Pardo raised to 6,000 from early position and Steve O'Dwyer called.
The flop came 9♠9♣10♣ and both players checked. The turn came the 3♥, Pardo bet 6,000 and O'Dwyer called.
The river was the 2♣ and Pardo bet 10,000. O'Dwyer made the call. Pardo showed K♥8♥ for a bluff and O'Dwyer showed J♠10♠ for two pair with the nines on board and his tens.
Isaac Haxton raised to 6,000 from the hijack and Sam Greenwood called in the small blind. Sirzat Hissou reraised to 25,000 and Haxton made the call. Greenwood got out of the way and two players went to the flop.
The flop came 7♥4♥2♣. Hissou bet out 18,000 and Haxton called. On the 5♣ turn, Hissou checked and Haxton bet 38,000, which forced Hissou to make the fold.
Santhosh Suvarna opened to 6,000 from under the gun before Adrian Mateos made it 18,000 on his direct left. Action folded to Stephen Chidwick, who four-bet to 44,000 from the button. Suvarna used up a time chip before shoving for 276,000. Mateos quickly folded and Chidwick thought about it and called for his tournament life.
Stephen Chidwick: Q♠Q♦
Santhosh Suvarna: A♦K♦
Suvarna, who was on his second bullet, only had Chidwick covered by 500. The 8♦4♦2♥ flop kept Chidwick ahead but Suvarna picked up a flush draw to go along with his overcards. The 9♠ turn and 4♥ river sealed the checkmark for Chidwick and reduced Suvarna to crumbs.
Suvarna was then forced all in the following hand but would end up chopping the pot to stick around for one more throw of the dice.
Chidwick opened to 5,500 from the hijack before Vicente Delagdo and Alex Kulev folded from the cutoff and button, respectively. Suvarna was all in for 1,000 from the small blind and Mateos folded his big blind.
Santhosh Suvarna: 8♣4♥
Stephen Chidwick: J♥10♥
Suvarna paired up on the K♣9♠8♥ flop to take the lead, but was the underdog once more after Chidwick made a pair on the 10♦ turn. The 3♣ completed the board and Suvarna found himself on the wrong side of the rail for the second time today.
Joao Vieira raised to 6,000 from late position and was called by Justin Bonomo in the small blind and Daniel Dvoress in the big blind.
The flop fell 5♣9♥3♦ and action checked to Vieira, who bet 5,000. Bonomo and Dvoress both called. The turn was the 2♥. Bonomo checked and Dvoress bet 25,000. Viera folded and Bonomo called.
The river was the 4♥. Bonomo checked and Dvoress pushed almost all in for 98,000, leaving a single red chip worth 500 behind. Bonomo made the fold and Dvoress scooped the pot.
