Andrei Stoenescu opened to 1,000 in early position and Romain Lewis called on the button before Frederic Normand upped the price with a three-bet in the big blind. Stoenescu called and Lewis folded.

Normand continued for 2,500 on the 2KQ flop and Stoenescu called. Normand sized up to 4,500 on the 3 turn and Stoenescu again called.

Normand slowed down with a check on the 3 river and Stoenescu bet 20,000 to put Normand to the test for his remaining stack of around 13,000. Normand called.

Stoenescu showed an overpair with AA and it was good to eliminate Normand, who had a pair of queens with AQ.
