Baltateanu Rivers Straight To Bust Ida

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Silviu Baltateanu
Silviu Baltateanu

Elias Suhonen raised from middle position for 5,000, Toru Ida called and Silviu Baltateanu reraised to 20,000. Suhonen got out of the way but Ida responded by moving all in. Baltateanu called and the players flipped their cards.

Toru Ida: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Silviu Baltateanu: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Baltateanu was badly behind, but the board ran out {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} to give him the turned straight and bust Ida.

Szabo Jams Into Tjauw Foe

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Levente Szabo raised in the cutoff and then called a three-bet by Clyde Tjauw Foe on the button. Following a {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Szabo check-called a bet and that led them to the {7-Hearts} on the turn. Szabo checked once more and Tjauw Foe now bet 15,000 with 40,000 behind.

Szabo grabbed into his stack and then check-raised to 100,000, which forced a very reluctant fold by the Dutchman.

Pavlov Loses Battle of Bulgarians

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Atanas Pavlov moved all-in with a shorter stack of around 35,000 and fellow Bulgarian Ivan Zhechev isolated by moving all-in over the top. As all opponents had folded, Pavlov hoped for a coin flip and got exactly that.

Atanas Pavlov: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Ivan Zhechev: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop propelled Pavlov into the lead but the {10-Diamonds} turn restored the preflop order. Pavlov still had outs with a straight draw but the {5-Diamonds} river was a brick.

Zouari Doubles Through Ederoua

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a completed board of {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades}, El Mostafa Ederoua checked and then faced the all-in of Jeremie Zouari for the last 21,500 from one seat over. Ederoua went into the tank and started some table chat.

"Jacks or nothing?" he inquired but received no reply. Some 30 seconds later, Ederoua called with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} but was no good, as Zouari revealed {a-Spades}{2-Hearts} for trip deuces.

Bolimowski and Tomovic Both Bust to Shevliakov's Set

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Julien Bolimowski
Julien Bolimowski

Aleksandr Shevliakov raised from early position and Julien Bolimowski called. Aleksandar Tomovic went all in with a short stack and both Shevliakov and Bolimowski called.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and action continued between the two bigger stacks. Shevliakov checked and Bolimowski bet 27,000. Shevliakov called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. Shevliakov checked and Bolimowski shoved all in. Shevliakov called and showed {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a flopped set. Bolimowski slammed his {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} on the table in frustration as he busted the tournament with the {10-Hearts} river bringing no joy for him. The shorter-stacked Tomovic also made his exit.

The pot brought Shevliakov up to around 460,000.

Molina Eliminated by Svesko

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The action folded all the way to Darko Svesko in the small blind and he opted to open-shove into the big blind of Federico Molina. With some 65,000 behind, Molina eventually called and they were off to the races.

Federico Molina: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Darko Svesko: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

The {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop left Molina on the ropes but he gained some equity with the {4-Clubs} turn. However, the {9-Diamonds} river only improved Svesko to a full house and sent the Argentinian to the rail.

No Lady Gaga for Lin

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ren Lin was all-in with his favourite card combination "Lady Gaga" as he exposed the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. He needed a queen to stay alive as Kevin Clement had the superior {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

However, the {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts} board ensured that the kicker played and Lin was sent to the rail.

David Kaye
David Kaye

American David Kaye spoke with PokerNews about his journey from a small-town Michigan poker player to becoming a poker player and PokerStars ambassador.

He also gave insight into the current poker scene in Michigan, and the potential of online poker in the state.
“We know the end goal isn't just two states,” he said. “Two states is great, but this is just the groundwork to get where we really want to be when we have all the states under one umbrella — or as many states as possible.”

Find out what Kaye had to say about the bright future of PokerStars US here!

Howells Eliminates Heude With Higher Kicker

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ludovic Heude raised from under the gun and Gerard Cortes reraised to 8,500. Jamie Howells called and so did Heude. The flop came {3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Howells shoved all in. Heude made the call and Cortes folded.

Heude showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of jacks, but Howells showed {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pair of jacks with a higher kicker. The board ran out dry and Howells claimed the pot, sending Heude to the rail.
