Pardo Makes Aces Work this Time Around

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Juan Pardo was down to just 36,500 after having his aces cracked and he found himself all in and at risk against the same culprit in Chris Brewer. This time, Pardo had different plans for his pocket aces.

Juan Pardo: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Chris Brewer: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Pardo's aces earned him a double-up this time.

Mokri Gets Paid with a Set

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sam Grafton and Kayhan Mokri were heads-up in a pot with the board reading {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Grafton checked in the cutoff and Mokri dished out a bet of 37,000 on the button. Grafton called and the {6-Clubs} landed on the river.

Grafton checked again and Mokri put together a bet of 51,500. Grafton thought about using a time bank but opted to call as his first 30 seconds was running out. Mokri tabled {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights and Grafton was unable to beat it.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Beresford led out with a bet of 20,000 which Thorel called. The turn was the {7-Spades} and Beresford fired out another bet of 50,000. Thorel still called and the {q-Spades} completed the board.

Beresford down-sized with a bet of 30,000 this time and Thorel ripped all in. Beresford had a decision to make for his last 105,000 chips and used up four of his time banks before finally laying his hand down.

Chris Brewer

Joao Vieira opened to 4,500 in middle position and Juan Pardo reraised to 20,000 from the small blind. Chris Brewer flat-called from the big blind and Vieira got out of the way.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Pardo continued with a bet of 22,500. Brewer just called and the {5-Spades} landed on the turn. Pardo sized up another bet of 57,000 and Brewer stuck around to see the {8-Clubs} on the river.

Pardo shipped all in on the river and Brewer rolled his eyes but quickly called off his stack of 167,500. Pardo turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} but Brewer held {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines to score a big double-up.

Kisacikoglu Shoves on Greenwood

Level 2 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{a-Spades}, Sam Greenwood led out from the small blind with a bet of 22,000 into a pot of around 75,000. Orpen Kisacikoglu called and the {2-Diamonds} completed the board.

Greenwood flicked in another bet of 25,000 after using two of his time banks and Kisacikoglu pushed out a raise to 65,000 for nearly his entire stack. Greenwood threw his hands up in the air as he leaned back in his seat and then flung his cards into the muck.
