Set Over Set Sees Staudacher Sent Home

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Middle position started the action, making it 10,000. Maxim Staudacher in the cutoff then shoved for 73,000. After some deliberation, Nemanja Lukovic re-shoved in the big blind. Middle position tanked for a short while before folding and we went heads up to the flop with the German's tournament life at risk.

Maxim Staudacher: 99
Nemanja Lukovic: KK

The table gave out a collective gasp as the 8K9 flop landed, giving both players a set.

Staudacher was still way behind as the 5 came on the turn, needing the remaining nine to come.

It didn't, and the 2 river condemned Staudacher to the rail, while Lukovic chipped up close to average stack.

Cappiello Overbet-Jams the River

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Just two players brewed a pot of about 100,000 on the completed board of 10766Q, and Fabio Peluso checked to Candido Cappiello who jammed for about 333,000. Peluso thought about it for about 10 seconds before tossing his cards into the muck.

A Small One for Alibas

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

After Michal Mrakes opened to 10,000 from middle position, Salim Alibas called from the small blind and he was the only one to do so.

Mrakes continued with a bet of 12,000 on the 85J flop, and Alibas quickly called. Both players decided to check on the turn A. There was no more action on the river J, as Mrakes and Alibas checked again.

First player to reveal his cards, Alibas showed A6. Mrakes mucked his cards, so Alibas scooped the pot to reach 300,000 chips.

Rodigari's Aces Hold to send Dumortier Out

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Clara Rodigari opened 13,000 in the cutoff and Clement Dumortier jammed for roughly 75,000 in the small blind. The big blind folded and Rodigari snap-called.

Clement Dumortier: 66
Clara Rodigari: AA

Dumortier ran into the best hand in the game and was unable to catch up as the board ran out KQJ7J.

Ardelean Aggression Leaves Nader Short

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Renato Ardelean opened the action, making it 11,000 from under the gun. His only caller was Alfred Nader in middle position and it went heads up to the flop.

It came 429 and Nader checked. Ardelean bet 8,000, and the Lebanese just called.

Nader once again checked as a 2 landed on the turn, before the Romanian made it 30,000. Nader, who had just 43,000 behind in total, reluctantly folded, slowly pushing his cards to the muck.

Ardelean added to his large stack, while Nader was left dangerously short.

One Bet Does it

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Michele D'Angelo opened 9,000 in middle position and Tomas Hajek called in the hijack before Wim Verhaegen came along in the big blind.

When the A87 flop hit the felt, both Verhaegen and D'Angelo checked and Hajek fired a bet of 13,000 which was enough to pull in the pot.

Freslon Eliminated by Brechot

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a blind versus blind situation, Enguerran Freslon found himself at risk for 21,000 from the small blind against Pascal Brechot.

Enguerran Freslon: Q7
Pascal Brechot: AJ

Unfortunatelly for Freslon, Brechot had a good hand in the big blind. There was no surprise on the 44J102 board, so Freslon was eliminated.

Some Big Stacks Around the Room

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Raillo Sent to the Rail

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Samuel Ferron shoved all in after it folded around to him on the button. The small blind folded and Italo Raillo, who was short in the big blind, had a tough decision to make. He eventually called with sixes and was left frustrated, seeing Ferron table a pair of sevens.

Italo Raillo: 66
Samuel Ferron: 77

Ferron hit a set on the 9107 flop, meaning Raillo needed an eight to land to give him a straight or hit running diamonds for a flush.

The A turn put Raillo on the brink of elimination before the river.

It came 5, sending the Italian to the rail and leaving Ferron with an impressive 252,000.
