The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona continues today at Casino Barcelona and Day 1d of the PokerStars Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Main Event, the fourth of eight total starting flights, is set to begin at 7 p.m. local time.
Mexico’s Jose Nadal holds the overall chip lead so far after finishing Day 1a with a colossal stack of 882,000 while Sebastien Compte of France claimed the Day 1b chip lead after finishing the second starting flight with 474,000.

The €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event has attracted 537 entrants so far from the first two starting flights, with 81 players advancing to Day 2 and making the money. The number of total entrants will increase dramatically over the next few days, with Day 1c starting at noon local time earlier today and already having generated a field of 730 entrants with just over three levels of late registration left at the time of writing.
Players will begin the day with 30,000 chips. Blinds will be 30 minutes in length and will start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Late registration will remain open until the start of Level 11 and play will end when 15% of the field remains at which point all remaining players will advance to Day 2 and be guaranteed at least a min-cash.

During the second break of the day in all ESPT Main Event starting flights, players can dive into some extra poker action with the All In ShootOut events, courtesy of PokerStars.
These events are free to enter, but players must link their PokerStars Live Card to their online PokerStars account to participate. This can be done through the PokerStars Live App or the Sign-Up Desk.

There were 1,200 chips in the pot on a flop of A♣Q♠J♣ when Giulio Astarita check-called a bet of 700 from Bogdan Tapu.
A 6♠ on the turn saw Astarita check again, and Tapu fired another bet of 2,000. Astarita called.
Both players checked the 6♥ river. Astarita showed A♦K♣ and won the pot as he out-kicked the A♠4♠ of Tapu.

Simon Zaki opened to 200 from the cutoff and was called by Rolando Carrera on the button, Manuel Fernandez in the small blind and Mark Rostron in the big blind.
The flop came J♠5♦4♠ and action checked around to Carrera, who bet 300. Fernandez and Rostron made the call while Zaki got out of the way.
All three players checked the 7♦ turn leading to the Q♠ river. Fernandez checked and Rostron bet 600. Carrera check-raised to 1,600, Fernandez folded and Rostron called.
Rostron showed a turned straight with 8♣6♣ but Carrera had made the nut flush on the river with A♠10♠ to take the pot.

On a board of K♣3♣4♠Q♣ there were around 3,000 chips in the pot when both Vitalii Zimkovskyi and Oleksii Tkachenko checked it over to Mateusz Kubik, who bet 1,000. Only Zimkovskyi called.
A 2♦ fell on the river and Zimkovskyi decided to lead out with a small bet of 800, which Kubik called.
Their bets were returned right back where they came from as Zimkovskyi flipped K♠5♠ and Kubik showed K♦5♦ for the same hand, which resulted in a chopped pot.

German Manas opened to 300 from under the gun and received calls from Victor Vozian in the cutoff and Mario Niciforo in the big blind.
The flop came A♦K♠K♦ and action checked around to Vozian who bet 600. Both Manas and Niciforo made the call.
All three players checked the 4♦ turn leading to the 10♠ river. Action once again checked around to Vozian who bet 1,500. Niciforo got out of the way while Manas made the call.
Vozian turned over a full house with K♣10♥ and his opponent quickly mucked.
