Day 1g Started
Time is running out for players aiming to secure their spot in Day 2 of the €1,100 PokerStars Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Main Event, as the last two starting flights take place today at Casino Barcelona.
After six intense Day 1 flights, 642 out of 4,297 entries have successfully advanced to the tournament's second stage. Leading the charge is Jose Nadal, the Day 1a chip leader, who amassed an impressive 882,000 chips on the opening day of the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona.
Maksims Uskovs secured 853,000 chips during Day 1c, while Karol Bogusz rounded out the top three with 835,000 chips after a strong showing in Day 1e.
Nadal, Uskovs, and Bogusz are the only players to surpass the 800,000-chip mark. However, with today's bumper field expected, there’s a strong chance we’ll see a new frontrunner emerge by the end of the session.

With roughly 1,200 in the middle on a flop of K♣7♥9♣, Pascal Dabrion bet 1,000 from the button and Stanislovas Vinicenka called out of the big blind.
A A♠ appeared on the turn and after Vinicenka checked, Dabrion fired a bet of 3,100. Vinicenka called.
Vinicenka checked again on the 8♠ river and Dabrion put out a bet of 8,000. Vinicenka thought it over for a little while before throwing in the call.
Dabrion turned over Q♠7♣ for bottom pair, which was no good against the K♥10♦ of Vinicenka for a pair of kings.

Julien Sitbon opened to 500 from under the gun and was called by 2024 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event third-place finisher Rania Nasreddine from the hijack. Kian Kiani and Rasmus Riberholdt-Nielsen also came along from the button and big blind.
Sitbon continued for 500 on the Q♠9♠9♦ flop, and Nasreddine was the only caller.
The 2♣ turn checked through to the A♦ river, and Sitbon slit out another 700. Nasreddine made it 2,000, putting the action back on Sitbon. The Frenchman shrugged his shoulders, and he flicked in a calling chip.
Nasreddine tabled A♣Q♦ for aces and queens, and Sitbon mucked his hand.
