Heads-up on a flop of 9♦8♠7♦, Bartomeu Barcelo got his last 237,000 in the middle from the cutoff as Oleksii Natoptanyi put him at risk on the button.
Bartomeu Barcelo: 7♠6♠
Oleksii Natoptanyi: Q♥Q♠
Barcelo needed to improve against Natoptanyi's queens, and he caught the 5♥ on the turn to make a straight and take the lead. The river was the 3♣ and Barcelo doubled up.
Sabry Ferhaoui bet 40,000 from the cutoff on a flop of A♦7♥5♦ and both Farukh Tach and Kacper Pyzara called in the blinds.
The turn was the 8♦ and Pyzara opened the betting for 75,000. Ferhaoui folded, but Tach called to see the A♣ river. Pyzara then bet 135,000 and Tach snap-called.
Pyzara turned over K♦10♦ for a flush and Tach mucked.
Cedric Jaby was all-in for 120,000 in middle position, Michal Hryncewicz pushed for 233,000 in the hijack, and Hans Rasmussen moved all in for 220,000 in the cutoff. Borja Martinez on the button called to put all three opponents at risk.
Cedric Jaby: A♦9♥
Hans Rasmussen: A♥Q♦
Michal Hryncewicz: Q♥Q♠
Borja Martinez: J♠J♥
Several players at the table took out their phones and stood up to film the action as the flop came 3♣3♠10♠. The rest of the board ran out 6♣9♦ and Hryncewciz scooped the pot with his queens, sending both Jaby and Rasmussen to the rail.
David Martin moved all in for 200,000 in middle position and Andreas Berggren put him at risk under the gun.
David Martin: A♣10♣
Andreas Berggren: A♠K♦
Martin hit top pair on the 10♥9♦4♥ flop and was poised for a double up after the 4♠ turn, but Berggren spiked the K♣ on the river to make a pair of kings and send Martin to the rail.
Ivan Stankov was all in for around 100,000 on the button, Kimmo Eskelinen put in his last 180,000 in middle position, and Yurii Zabrodotskyi had them both covered and at risk in the cutoff.
Ivan Stankov: 3♠3♦
Kimmo Eskelinen: J♠9♠
Yurii Zabrodotskyi: A♦J♣
Stankov remained in the lead through the turn on a board of 7♥10♥6♦5♣, but the river brought the J♦ to give Zabrodotskyi top pair with an ace kicker to scoop the pot and send both opponents to the rail.
Robin Ylitalo raised to 25,000 in the hijack and Juliane Papazian called on the button. Edgar Ishida then three-bet to 140,000 in the big blind and Ylitalo moved all in. Papazian folded, while Ishida called for his last 250,000.
Edgar Ishida: A♥Q♠
Robin Ylitalo: 9♦9♣
Ishida was racing for his tournament life but fell far behind on the K♠9♥8♠ flop as Ylitalo hit a set. The board ran out 5♥A♣ and the ace on the river couldn't help Ishida avoid elimination as Ylitalo added to his massive stack.
"How much did you start the day with," Parker Talbot, who had only just arrived at the table, asked Ylitalo.
"200K. He's knocked out seven people," another tablemate added.
"I haven't been running good, either. I've just been crushing," Ylitalo added.
Before the break, Vasyl Pidhrusnyi opened and Piero Alioto three-bet jammed a short stack before Sergio Aido four-bet jammed behind him. Pidhrusnyi called off for around 75,000 with Aido having him covered.
Cards were on their backs with Jose Nadal in middle position seemingly on the verge of doubling up Adi Alkalay who had about 150,000 under the gun, but there were still five cards to come.
Adi Alkalay: A♦A♥
Jose Nadal: J♦J♥
The flop immediately brought Nadal the help he needed, falling J♣8♥3♦, giving him a leading set of jacks.
The board completed Q♣2♥, failing to bring Alkalay one of the two remaining outs he needed to survive, as Nadal continued to grow one of the biggest stacks in the room.
Three-handed on a flop of 9♠8♥7♣, Aaron Valldeperez moved all in for 70,000 in the big blind. Pierre Mounic gave it some thought before folding in early position, while Brian Battistone quickly called on the button.
Aaron Valldeperez: 10♣8♣
Brian Battistone: Q♦9♦
Battistone was ahead with his pair of nines, while Valldeperez had a pair and straight draw. The 3♣ turn also gave him a flush draw, but Valldeperez missed on the 4♦ river and Battistone took the pot to send him to the rail.
Defending champion Lucien Cohen and EPT Barcelona champion Simon Wiciak were also recently eliminated.
