The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona continues today with the €100,000 EPT Super High Roller. Casino Barcelona will host this prestigious three-day event that will surely attract some of the best and brightest stars in the poker community.
The same event last year summoned a healthy field of 18 entries, which saw the eventual winner, Kayhan Mokri, claim the trophy and the lion’s share of the €1,746,360 prize pool. Mokri defeated Jean-Noel Thorel in heads-up play to take home a massive €750,960 for his efforts.

Last year's runner-up, Thorel, took down the Super High Roller Warm-Up late last night for a massive €512,370.
Players will have a starting stack of 250,000 chips, with blinds beginning at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. Day 1 is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 p.m. local time as competitors play through eight 60-minute levels, with an additional 20-minute break every two levels.
A shot clock will be implemented from the start of the event and players will have six time bank cards worth 30 seconds each. Each player has 15 seconds to act on their first decision and 30 seconds on any subsequent decision. At the start of every level, an additional time bank card will be allocated to each player.
This is an unlimited reentry event, and late registration will be available until the start of Day 2.

Sam Greenwood raised to 2,500 from the small blind. Byron Kaverman three-bet to 18,000 from the big blind and Greenwood made the call.
Greenwood checked at the sight of the 5♥4♥4♦ flop. Kaverman continued for 14,000 and Greenwood laid down his hand.

"This feels like we're starting a cash game," Kayhan Mokri said as he, Seth Davies, and Teun Mulder began play three-handed at their table.
Davies then raised to 3,000 on the button and Mulder called in the big blind. The flop came K♥7♠2♦ and Davies bet 2,500. Mulder then raised to 8,500 and Davies called.
The turn was the 5♥ and Mulder bet 28,000. Davies called again and the 6♠ fell on the river. Mulder used a time bank before betting 125,000, and Davies quickly folded this time.

In a blind versus blind confrontation, 9,000 was in the middle as two players headed to a flop of 9♥2♦K♠.
Mike Watson, in the small blind, checked the action to Sam Greenwood, who bet out 3,000. Watson called.
The Q♠ turn saw Watson check and then fold to a second barrel of 12,000 from Greenwood.

Mike Watson bet 3,000 from the button on a flop of J♣7♣2♦ and Byron Kaverman called in the big blind.
Watson bet another 11,000 on the 8♣ turn and Kaverman again called. Kaverman checked for a third time on the 4♦ river, and this time Watson checked back.
Kaverman showed K♦J♦ for top pair, but Watson had A♦J♥ and took the pot with his ace kicker.

"I'm kind of enjoying this. This is way more fun than usual. All we need is a few glasses of wine," Kayhan Mokri said as he then raised to 4,000 in the small blind. Teun Mulder three-bet to 14,000 in the big blind and Mokri called.
Mulder continued for 10,000 on the K♠6♥2♥ flop and Mokri called. Both players checked the 8♠ turn.
Mokri led out for 33,000 on the Q♠ river and Mulder called. Mokri showed K♥10♣ for top pair and Mulder mucked.
