Around 500,000 was in the middle on a completed board of A♦J♥8♠8♣5♠ in a hand between David Miscikowski and Fernando Valverde.
Miscikowski checked to Valverde, who slid out a bet of 425,000. After quite some thought, Miscikowski called, but was shown the bad news when Valverde turned over K♦8♦ for the turned trip eights.
Renato Grossi opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Nick Palma three-bet shoved for 380,000 from the button. Grossi called with a covering stack to put Palma at risk.
Nick Palma: K♠Q♣
Renato Grossi: A♥K♦
Palma was in rough shape with a dominated king and found no help on the 2♦4♠3♥ flop.
"I don't want it on the turn. I want it on the river," Palma commented as the inconsequential 10♠ turn was dealt.
Palma put on his backpack and stood up after the turn, at which point the miraculous Q♦ river was dealt to give Palma a full double up.
Before scooping the pot, Palma mentioned to his tablemates that the backpack trick he pulled off was known back home as the "Rob Brown Walkaway".
Rania Nasreddine opened the button to 50,000 and was met with a three-bet shove by Tomasz Chmiel for 400,000 out of the small blind. Takahiro Tsugu was sat in the big blind with slightly less chips than Chmiel and decided to put them into the middle. Nasreddine folded and the cards were revealed.
Takahiro Tsugu : A♥J♥
Tomasz Chmiel: K♥Q♦
The runout of 5♦3♣6♥J♦K♣ gave Chmiel the winner with a rivered pair of kings, and Tsugu was out of the tournament.
Maciej Komorowski opened from a middle position to 50,000 and Michael Wang called from the cutoff. Jan-Eric Schwippert moved all in from the small blind and scooped the pot after his two opponents folded.
In a preflop confrontation, Lukasz Golczyk was all in from the cutoff for around 800,000 and up against Cedric Schwaederle who covered him from the big blind.
Lukasz Golczyk: 10♥10♦
Cedric Schwaederle: A♠A♥
Schwaederle remained ahead with the best preflop hand on the J♦K♦6♦6♣J♣ runout to send Golczyk to the rail and drag in a colossal pot.
