Bo Alm limped in for 500 and Georgios Zachmanidis raised to 2,000 from the hijack. Marc Foggin then made it 5,500 from the cutoff before Scott Margereson shoved from the button for around 9,000. Alm and Zachmanidis both folded, and Foggin made the call.
Scott Margereson: A♣K♦
Marc Foggin: A♠A♥
Margereson did pair his king on the 6♣9♣K♥ flop but improved no further as the 4♣3♠ runout meant he was eliminated.
As PokerStars celebrates the 20th anniversary of the European Poker Tour (EPT), the company is expanding its reach by forming strategic collaborations with other major poker tours, reshaping the landscape of live poker and offering new opportunities to players worldwide.
Julien Liarte, PokerStars’ Live Events Senior Business Development Manager Europe, recently shared insights into these developments during an interview at the UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) London.
With roughly 3,600 chips in the pot on a flop of 8♠10♥J♥, Jan Zeuschner was first to act from early position and put out a bet of 2,000. Frankie Cucchiara was sitting in the seat to his direct left and chose to raise to 5,200. Zeuschner thought it over for a while before reluctantly folding his folds.
Thomas Syversen opened 1,100 on the button and both Georgios Skarparis and Patrick Gaonach came along in the blinds.
The dealer spread a flop of 10♥9♦7♠, and all three players checked to the 6♣ turn. Skarparis led for 1,500, and Gaonach called before Syversen put in a raise to 5,800. That was enough to earn the pot as both Skarparis and Gaonach mucked their hands.
The fourth season of the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) run by PokerStars is well underway and the action only continues to heat up with the recent schedule release for its marquee stop in Las Vegas. Running from Friday November 1st through Sunday November 10th at Resorts World Las Vegas, the series is not one to miss as it features a whopping 36 tournaments in the span of a week and a half.
Buy-ins range from just $250 all the way up to $25,000 so there are plenty of options for those who want to enjoy some live tournament action without breaking the bank while also providing an opportunity for high stakes regulars to satisfy their desire to play for eye watering sums of money. The high volume means the series comes with a healthy $4,000,000 in total guarantees, including a sizable $3,000,000 set aside for the $5,300 Main Event.
Ermanno Di Nicola had just re-entered shortly before and was seen back in the action from the small blind with a flop of K♣7♠6♥ on the felt. Di Nicola fired 2,800 into the pot of about 8,000, and his only opponent in the hand, Stefano Schiano made the call from the cutoff.
The A♦ fell on the turn, and Di Nicola continued for 6,300. Schiano raised to 15,000 and Di Nicola snap-jammed for 22,500. Schiano pitched his cards into the muck.
