Matuszewski Jams into Aces

Mikhail Shalamov opened to 30,000 from under the gun and was called by Ranno Sootla from one seat over. Hubert Matuszewski then three-bet to 120,000 from the hijack. Eleftherios Sinnos used up a time bank before reraising to 275,000 from the button. The blinds, Shalamov and Sootla got out of the way, prompting Matuszewski to move all in for around 525,000. Sinnos snap-called and the cards went on their backs.

Matuszewski could only hope for a chop after the 7♦4♥5♣ flop and 3♣ turn. However, the J♠ river gave Sinnos the winner for the pot and elimination.

Khorchidian Gets it in Good, Lyubovetskiy Improves on Turn and River

On a flop of 8♥J♥10♣, Nichan Khorchidian had committed his stack of around 250,000 to the pot, and had been put at risk by Ukraine's Andriy Lyubovetskiy.

Both had flopped flush draws, but it was Khorchidian who held the lead with his pair of tens and was the favorite to double up. However, things took a turn for the worst for Khorchidian on the A♠ turn, as Lyubovetskiy improved to top pair. Only a king, queen, ten, or a nine could save Khorchidian, and despite improving to a flush on the 4♥ river, Lyubovetskiy's flush was bigger.

Hu was ahead going to the flop, which came A♥K♥8♦ to give him a pair of kings and an even bigger lead. The turn was the 6♦ as Tamm picked up a straight draw, and he completed his straight on the 7♥ river.

"Wow," Hu said, taking the beat in stride as he made his way to the exit.
