Can Meli Reel Off Another Big Score?

It's a good time to be Vincent Meli. The French pro has been on a heater the last few months, notching his four biggest career scores in that time.

In November, he topped the UKIPT Nottingham Grand Final for £159,325 ($197,323) and then followed that up with a ninth-place finish in the Main Event at EPT Prague. That deep run in the Czech capital generated a €95,000 ($102,275) payout and firmly placed him as a player to watch in 2024.

He has a first and third-place tournament finish under his belt since the turn of the new year, collecting £83,897 ($105,892) and £58,690 ($74,666) respectively.

Meli is also in attendance for the FPS Main Event, and his stack is heading in the right direction. He recently took in a small pot to continue his upward trajectory.

The cutoff opened to 2,000 and Meli defended his big blind. The 6♣4♣3♦ flop checked through to the 7♠ turn. Meli led out for 2,200 and folded out his opponent.

Cards were on their backs with Michael Kramer all in and at risk for his last 22,600. He was up against Jun Beum Chun.

Kramer tabled A♠10♥ and was dominated by Chun's AxQx, but the 10♦10♣2♠ flop made the shorter stack the huge favorite. Kramer held out to double after the 5♠ turn and 7♣ runout.

Alessandro Adinolfo raised to 2,400 from middle position and picked up three callers, including Guy Cicconi in the big blind.

The flop came 5♥2♠3♠. Cicconi checked and Adinolfo made a continuation bet of 3,000. The rest of the table folded and Cicconi called. The turn was the 2♦ and both players checked.

The river came the K♣. Cicconi bet 8,500 and Adinolfo called. Cicconi threw his hand in the muck, conceding the pot without showing his hand. Adinolfo did the same as he scooped the pot.

Thibault Reverdito already had a reraise in the middle from the button when Balakrishna Patur bumped it up to 19,000 from the big blind. Reverdito moved all in for 63,900. Patur got the count and then made the call with the bigger stack.

Paris is the City of Light, and yesterday at the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris €10,200 Mystery Bounty, the light shined brightest on Duco ten Haven.

The Dutch pro, who considers Paris a second home, is usually an online crusher but captured his first EPT title today at Le Palais des Congrès by defeating Quan Zhou heads-up to win the trophy and €126,500. In addition to the top prize, he also earned €117,500 in bounties, including one of the €50,000 top mystery bounty envelopes, as he began his festival here in Paris with a total score of €244,000, the best of his live poker career.

Unlucky Runout Denies Petrushevskii a Double

Sergei Petrushevskii opened 2,500 under the gun, and both Jena Murray and Bo Liu called before Andreas Tomazou put in a three-bet to 8,500 on the button. Petrushevskii called while Murray and Liu got out of the way.

The dealer fanned a flop of 9♦4♥2♣, and Petrushevskii checked before Tomazou announced all-in, dropping a stack of blue across the line. Petrushevskii instantly called off his remaining stack of about 25,000 and both hands were tabled.

Ten Haven continued for 2,600 on the K♠Q♦2♣ flop before Djaballah raised to 8,000. The blinds folded before Ten Haven called.

The 10♠ turn checked through to the A♣ river. Ten Haven led out for 3,100 but quickly folded after his opponent moved all in as the bigger stack.
