Periaux Spikes the Turn to Eliminate Zhang

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Yang Zhang was already all in and at risk from the cutoff for his last 23,000 against Ludovic Periaux, who had Zhang slightly covered in the small bind.

Yang Zhang: KK
Ludovic Periaux: AJ

Zhang was in good shape to double and the 248 flop kept him out in front.

It wasn't meant to be, however, as the A turn vaulted Periaux into the lead with a pair of aces.

The 7 river changed nothing and Zhang was elimianted.

Aurelie Reard

[Removed:459] raised to 3,500 from the button and Aurelie Reard defended her big blind.

The 8104 flop was checked through by both players.

Reard check-called a bet of 3,000 from her opponent on the 3 turn.

On the 10 river, Reard led out with a bet of 12,000. El Rharbaoui thought for a moment but made the call.

Reard showed 46, her flopped third pair improving to a flush on the river, and El Rharbaoui mucked his hand.

Simsek Busts Whitlow in Painful Cooler

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Judy Whitlow
Judy Whitlow

Mustafa Simsek opened to 3,000 from the button and Judy Whitlow defended in the big blind.

Whitlow led out with a bet of 2,000 on the 4106 flop and was called by Simsek.

Whitlow continued to reach for chips on the 3 turn, betting 6,000 and again being called by Simsek.

On the 7 river Whitlow moved all in for around 10,000 and Simsek made the quick call.

Whitlow turned over K9 for the second nut flush, but unbelievably she had been drawing dead the whole way, with Simsek holding AJ for the nut flush.

Whitlow took it in great spirits, wishing her table good luck as she left, with everyone commiserating with her misfortune as she departed.
