2024 PokerStars EPT Paris
Level: 21
Blinds: 10,000/15,000
Ante: 15,000
Youcef Benzerfa raised to 25,000 from middle position, Istvan Pilhofer three-bet to 70,000 from the hijack and Pilhofer made the call.
The 5♣4♠7♠ flop saw Benzerfa check to the aggressor. Pilhofer bet out 59,000 and Benzerfa made a swift fold.
Nozomu Shimizu opened 25,000 under the gun, and only Jorrit Baars made the call from the small blind.
When the J♥9♠6♥ flop hit the felt, both players checked to see the 5♦ turn.
Baars check-called a bet of 25,000, and the 3♥ hit the river.
Both players tapped the table, and Baars rolled over A♦7♣ before seeing the A♠9♦ of Shimizu.
Olivier Carosella jammed for 153,000 from early position. Action folded to Matei Lupascu in the big blind, who called after peeling his cards.
It was a classic race as Carosella held A♠K♦ and was flipping against 10♥10♣. A fair fight became more one-sided after the tens remained best after the 9♠7♠7♥ flop. The 3♥ turn and 5♣ river offered no saving grace and Lupascu scored the knockout.
Jawad Bengourane open raised in late position and Kyle Boyd shoved all in from the next seat for 212,000. The rest of the table folded and action was back on Bengourane, who deliberated for a moment before making his decision.
"I can't fold," said Bengourane as he put his chips into the middle.
Kyle Boyd: K♦Q♦
Jawad Bengourane: J♠J♦
The board ran out A♣8♦Q♣K♥8♥. Boyd paired his queen on the flop and improved to two pair on the turn. He held to double up his stack.
Rachid El Yaacoubi raised from middle position and Bernard Vu moved all in for 80,000, which El Yaacoubi called. Players flipped their cards, with Vu at risk.
Bernard Vu: 9♣9♦
Rachid El Yaacoubi: 3♣3♦
The board ran out 2♦2♥7♦3♠2♣. The turn brought El Yaacoubi a set of threes to bring him ahead. He held and Vu was eliminated from the tournament.
Istvan Pilhofer opened 25,000 in early position, and Borja Miranda three-bet 69,000 in the hijack. The action quickly folded back around to Pilhofer and he made the call.
The dealer fanned a flop of Q♠10♠7♣, and Pilhofer check-called a continuation bet of 40,000.
The J♣ turn was checked through, and the A♦ landed on the river.
Pilhofer led out for 107,000, and Miranda looked visibly frustrated, shaking his head as he went into the tank. Eventually, he tossed his cards into the muck and the dealer pushed the pot to Pilhofer.
Benjamin Duval raised to 24,000 from middle position, Kenny Hallaert three-bet to 75,000 from the cutoff and Duval took his time before moving all in. Hallaert, with a stack of 509,000 which just covered Duval, made the call.
Benjamin Duval: 8♠8♦
Kenny Hallaert: 10♦10♥
The 10♣9♣5♥K♣A♥; Hallaert had Duval dead on the turn and he exited the tournament floor.
