Tous Lays Down Top Pair as Rowe Takes Out Shimizu

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Clark Rowe raised to 4,000 in the hijack before David Tous three-bet to 12,000 in the cutoff. Nozomu Shimizu put in his last 17,500 from the big blind and Rowe called.

"I cannot raise, no? Only call or fold," Tous asked before being told he could only call Shimizu's all in. He also put in the chips and he and Rowe went to a flop of 372.

Rowe led out for 10,000 and Tous called to create a side pot. The turn was the K and Rowe checked to Tous who bet 30,000. Rowe then raised to 65,000 and Tous folded.

Rowe showed 77 for a set, while Shimizu had J2 and was already drawing dead heading to the Q river. Tous then admitted he folded ace-king.

"No way," tablemate Pierre Calamusa remarked.

Henok Tekle Mariam raised it up from late position and subsequently called the three-bet shove by Evaldas Aniulis for 30,500 in the cutoff.

The Dutch player instantly improved on the A109 flop while the K turn gave Aniulis some hope. However, nothing changed with the 3 river and Aniulis grabbed his smart phone to snap a picture.

"I would want to forget about it instantly," Tobias Hausen joked and another player replied "maybe it is for a backer, that he lost with a bad beat".

Grafton Holds On to Bust Faraut

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton bet 5,500 from the hijack on a flop of 726 and Bryan Paris folded in the cutoff, but Patrick Faraut stuck around and called from the button.

The turn was the 3 and Grafton led out for another 10,000. Faraut then moved all in for 52,000.

"Tough spot," Grafton said as he tanked for more than a minute while cameras surrounded the table. He eventually called and turned over 88, finding himself ahead of Faraut's A5.

Grafton needed to avoid Faraut's straight and flush draws on the river as the dealer turned over the K, securing the pot for Grafton. The stacks were counted down and Grafton barely had Faraut covered, sending him to the rail. "Unlucky, sir," Grafton told Faraut.

"Such a nitroll. I should've done this. Eights, let's go," Grafton said, motioning as if he was slamming his chips in the middle.

EPT Barcelona champ and Grafton's now-fellow Team PokerStars Pro Simon Wiciak has recently joined this table.
