Nothing changed with the 632 flop but Ponakovs gained the lead on the A turn. D'Alterio had two outs to deal the final blow but the Q river was not among them.

Paris Shoves on Grafton

With around 30,000 in the pot, Sam Grafton and Bryan Paris went heads-up in a blind versus blind battle to a flop of 97A. Both players then checked and the 4 fell on the turn.

Grafton led out for 8,000 and Paris called. The river was the 6 and Grafton checked over to Paris, who moved all in. Grafton snap-folded with around 25,000 remaining.

"I didn't think you had a spade," Grafton said as Paris collected the pot.

Steve O'Dwyer was heads up against Merivan Hassan on a board of 10K54. O'Dwyer checked out of the big blind before Hassan put in a bet of 12,500 into a pot of 14,500.

O'Dwyer put in a call and both players checked the subsequent 7 river. O'Dwyer tabled K3 for top pair and Hassan's cards hit the muck as he could not beat that.

Claude Mamalepot opened under the gun to 3,000 and was called by Merivan Hassan in middle position.

Mamalepot continued with a bet of 3,000 on the 76K flop and Hassan called.

On the 5 turn Mamalepot check-called a bet of 6,000 from Hassan.

The river brought the 2 and Mamalepot again checked to his opponent. Hassan slid out a bet of 11,000, and after about two minutes of thought Mamalepot let his hand go.

Therme Doubles Up Among Early Onslaught

Jonathan Therme had raised under the gun and Laurent Azout put in a three-bet to 7,500.

The action folded back to Therme, who put in his stack of 48,000. Azout asked for a count and made the call shortly thereafter.

Therme's aces faced no resistance on the Q2965 board, and he booked a comfortable double-up to get an above-average stack.

Meanwhile, players on other tables were less lucky as the first names are flying out in the early minutes of Day 2.

Robovic Fires Three Barrels at Uzan

Heads-up on a flop of 6Q10, Andrija Robovic bet 2,000 from the cutoff and Marc Uzan called in the big blind.

The turn was the Q and Robovic bet another 6,000. Uzan again called and the 7 fell on the river.

Robovic then bet 15,000 and Uzan quickly called. Robovic turned over K10 for two pair and Uzan mucked as Robovic took down the early pot.
