David Tous moved all in from the small blind and Dimitar Danchev quickly called off his stack of 300,000 from the big blind.
Tous grimaced as he tabled 9x8x while Danchev had A♦J♦ for the better hand. Danchev smashed the A♥A♠6♣ flop and filled up on the 6♦ turn before the 3♠ river hit the felt.
Youssef Zereg opened to 75,000 from under the gun and action folded to [Removed:520] in the big blind. He had 335,000 total and agonised over his options before open-folding 8x8x. Zereg was kind enough to show he had AxKx.
Two hands later, David Kaufmann opened to 50,000 from under the gun and was called by Kostadin Kostadinov from hijack. Leo Worthington-Leese moved all in for 515,000 and picked up what was in the pot as he folded out the rest of the table.
Barny Boatman opened to 50,000 with the Q♥Q♣ out of the hijack. He was once again three-bet by Omar Lakhdari to 165,000 with the A♥10♠ out of the curtoff and Boatman called with the words "I can't fold" to hit top set on the Q♦7♠2♦ flop.
Boatman checked and Lakhdari quickly bet 125,000 for Boatman to "kiss his chips goodbye" before tossing them into the middle. The 8♦ turn saw Boatman lead for 250,000 into a pot of 640,000 and Lakhdari inquired "how much do you have" while pondering about his decision.
Krasimir Neychev went all in for 330,000 from the hijack and was called by Farid Jattin on the button.
Krasimir Neychev: K♠K♦
Farid Jattin: A♥Q♠
The 4♥2♥10♠ flop remained safe for Neychev, but the 3♥ turn brought a plethora of outs for Jattin. He hit one of them on the 5♠ river, and his straight knocked out Neychev in 34th place.
Anton Wigg limped the A♦5♣ and Gonzalo Almeida checked the K♣8♣. They checked the K♥9♠7♠ flop before Wigg bet the J♦ turn for 85,000, Almeida called.
Wigg also bet the 2♦ river for 360,000 into a pot of 245,000 and that sent Almeida into the tank. One time bank vanished and Almeida called to send Wigg to the bottom of the leaderboard on the feature table.
Eric Afriat raised to 55,000 under the gun, Florian Duta three-bet to 155,000 in the big blind, and Afriat called.
The flop came Q♣5♦10♦ and Duta continued for 215,000. Afriat then raised to 500,000 and Duta tanked for a moment before announcing he was all in for 1,250,000. Afriat snap-called.
Florian Duta: K♠K♣
Eric Afriat: 5♠5♣
Duta showed down a pair of kings, but he had run right into Afriat's flopped set as the 8♥ turn and 4♠ river secured the massive pot for Afriat and sent Duta crashing out of the tournament.
"He had to have kings or aces," Afriat said after the hand.
Eric Afriat and Aleksejs Ponakovs were heads up on a completed board of 5♥10♠K♥9♥9♠. Ponakovs checked out of the big blind and Afriat made a pot-sized bet of 200,000 on the button.
Ponakovs thought it over for a little while before flicking in a call. Afriat showed J♣9♣ for runner-runner trips and Ponakovs quickly tossed his cards in the muck.
Gonzalo Almeida opened to 50,000 and Hans Erlandsson three-bet out of the hijack in the next seat to 125,000. The initial raiser jammed for 410,000 and Erlandsson called, then sighed when the cards were revealed.
Gonzalo Almeida: A♠Q♥
Hans Erlandsson: A♦J♦
Some chop outs were had until the K♠8♣3♥A♣ turn but the 10♠ river secured the double for Almeida.
Picking up the action on a turn of 5♥7♣3♥6♥ with around 380,000 chips in the pot, Lorenzo Arduini made a bet of 150,000 from the small blind. He received a call from Eliot Hudon under the gun, and a K♠ river was dealt.
Arduini went all in for 535,000 chips, causing Hudon to go into the tank. After a little while passed, he mucked his cards and forfeited the pot to Arduini.
On another table, Lewis Spencer busted after he got his final few blinds in the middle and could not win.
Johannes Verhagen moved all in for 260,000 from early position as action folded to Youssef Zereg, who had only just taken his seat at this table, in the big blind. He took a peek at his cards and snap-called.
Johannes Verhagen: A♥J♥
Youssef Zereg: Q♠Q♥
The flop came Q♦3♣2♣ and Zereg hit top set, leaving Verhagen drawing dead after the J♦ turn. The inconsequential river was the 4♠ and Zereg scored the knockout.
