Wiciak and Saliba Are Table Neighbors

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Simon Wiciak
Simon Wiciak

Vivian Saliba made it 3,000 from the cutoff and was immediately shoved on by Simon Wiciak on the button. Once the blinds folded, Saliba thought for a while before she also released her cards, and Wiciak took the pot.

Wiciak has two EPT final tables under his belt, most notably when he won the EPT Main Event in Barcelona last year for a huge score of €1,134,375. While Saliba doesnt have any EPT final tables to her name, she did win a bracelet just a couple of months ago in a PLO event.

PokerNews will keep an eye on the pair as the day progresses to see how they get on.

Matilla Puts Up Little Resistance to Kostadinov's Aggression

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Jussi Matilla made it 2,600 from under the gun and Serge Didisheim called from the next seat. Kostadin Kostadinov was in middle position and bumped it up to 10,500. When it got back to Matilla, he called, and Didisheim folded.

The flop came 53A and after Matilla checked, Kostadinov bet 6,000. That was enough to win the pot as Matilla pushed his cards toward the dealer, which meant Kostadinov continued to chip up.

Pereira Pays Off Ogita

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With around 15,000 chips in the pot on a board of 10A67, both Daisuke Ogita in the small blind and Eduardo Pereira in the big blind checked to see the 5 drop on the river. Ogita then reached for chips and fired out 11,000, which gave Pereira a tricky decision.

After around a minute, Pereira elected to call, then he quickly mucked when he saw the 107 of Ogita, who had turned two pair.

Zouari Issued One-Round Penalty

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Tournament officials had been called to Table 47 for a situation involving Jeremie Zouari and Eros Calderone.

On a Q64J board, Jeremie Zouari had bet 13,000 and Eros Calderone had raised to 40,000. Zouari sat without cards, having apparently folded, but according to Calderone, Zouari had pulled back the three 1,000 chips from his original bet before replacing it and folding.

Tournament officials ruled that having manipulated his chips, Zouari needed to call or raise — he wasn't allowed to fold. However, while officials conferred they realized there was an additional complicating factor: Calderone had folded his cards as well.

Eventually, officials awarded the pot to Calderone without forcing Zouari to match the 40,000 bet, and issued Zouari a one-round penalty.

Masih All In

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There were around 12,000 chips in the pot as both players looked down at a flop of QJ3. Scott Urbanski who was on the button continued his aggression with a bet of 5,000 which was quickly called by Scott Masih.

When the 7 fell on the turn both players elected to check. Masih with just under pot behind led the 9 river and announced "all in". Urbanski, shaking his head, eventually folded. Masih took down the 47,000-chip pot.
