Day 1 of the €3,000 EPT Mystery Bounty Starts Today

Today sees the start of the second Mystery Bounty event here at the PokerStars European Poker Tour at the Hilton Prague. The €3,000 EPT Mystery Bounty is sure to attract a strong field of players who will all be looking for some big pulls from the bounty chest. Play today starts at 2 p.m. local time.

Last year saw Gab Yong Kim take home the title and €214,674 for his efforts. He also pulled €40,000 in bounties, which took his total earnings for the tournament to €254,674. He agreed a heads-up chop against Andrej Tekel who claimed €198,278, with €12,000 of his winnings coming via the bounty chest. Kim has already been seen in Prague this year and has made two cashes. He finished 73rd in the €1,100 Eureka Main Event for €7,220 and 128th in the €2,200 Eureka High Roller for €4,980.

Last year there were three top bounties worth €50,000 a piece. Iurii Senchylo, Mats Nylander and Jelle Moene were the lucky recipients. Ioannis Oikonomidis managed to scoop not just one, but both of the available €25,000 bounties. He scored a total of seven bounties for €59,000 as well as bagging €110,000 for third place, taking his total cash to €169,110.

The tournament this year promises to offer more of the same action. Blinds start at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Levels last 40 minutes with unlimited re-entries on Day 1, with late registration closing at the start of play tomorrow. €1,000 of the €3,000 buy in from each player will go into the bounty prize pool. Play is scheduled to last for 12 levels with 20-minute breaks scheduled for the end of Level 3 and Level 6. A 75-minute dinner break is scheduled at the end of Level 9.

There was 6,000 in front of Giovanni La Padula in early position, and Kostadin Kostadinov had moved all-in for 38,000 from middle position. La Padula took at least two minutes before making the call, Kostadinov slightly covering the Italian.

On the 852 flop, Nikitin continued with a bet of 900, and Debregeas stuck around.

The 9 hit on the turn, and Nikitin fired again, sliding out a bet of 3,000. Debregeas again called.

The A river slowed Nikitin down and he checked. Debregeas took a bit of time before jamming for22,000 into the 9,000 pot. Nikitin was pained, looking slightly perplexed by the move, and after about two minutes he eventually let his hand go.

The 10 river completed the board, and Venneri fired out a bet of 10,000, Stojanovic's calling chips almost beating him into the pot.

Stojanovic tabled A9 for the flopped trip nines, but they were behind from the turn versus Venneri's 86, for the eventual ten-high straight.

After a good deal of thought, Rezaei slid out a bet of 5,000, and Suutari called.

The river brought the K and one-card flush scenarios, and was checked through. Rezaei tabled A9 for two pair aces and nines, but Suutari had 99 for the set of nines.

The A rolled off on the turn, and Kassouf took some time before jamming for 20,500, saying "The Ace might have saved you. I've got two pair or a set minimum, that's all I'm saying."

Berthomet gave it some thought before sending his cards to the dealer.
