All of a sudden, Runcan was on the brink of elimination. The flop of 6♣3♥K♥ put Marques in a commanding position to clinch the title, and left Runcan with a slim shot at survival.

By the time the 2♣ hit the turn, it was all over as Runcan was drawing dead. The 9♥ on the river was just a formality, and Runcan had to settle for second.

When it folded to Pedro Marques on the button, he shoved with a stack that covered both Barak Oz and Jaehyung Park in the blinds. Oz was the shortest stack at the table, and after looking at his cards, he made the call for his remaining 2,750,000. Park folded and the cards were revealed.

Oz was marginally ahead and needed the dealer to give him a safe runout to double-up.

However, the dealer fanned out a flop of 6♠Q♣8♣ to put Marques in the lead with a pair of eights. The K♦ on the turn meant only an ace on the river could save Oz from elimination. The 6♣ dropped on the river to give Marques the winner, and Oz was sent to the rail just shy of a podium finish.

Paul Runcan raised to 600,000 from the button and Anton Bergstrom three-bet shoved for 2,125,000 out of the small blind. Runcan called to try and bust Bergstrom.

It was a flip that Bergstrom needed to win to have a chance of becoming the only three-time EPT Champion.

The 9♠K♦9♦ flop gave Bergstrom a few more outs to stay alive. The 2♥ turn was a complete brick, and after the 8♠ dropped on the river Bergstrom was out in fifth, and it guaranteed a new EPT Main Champion will be crowned.

Siarhei Alontsau raised to 300,000 from the cutoff with only Pedro Marques calling from the big blind.

The flop came down 9♣J♦Q♣ and Marques checked the action to Alontsau. Alontsau thought briefly before overbet shoving for 2,450,000. Marques snap-called to put Alontsau at risk.

Alontsau had the overpair but Marques was currently in the lead with bottom two pair. Alontsau needed to find an ace or some counterfeiting two pair to stay in the tournament.

The 4♣ came on the turn which took away one of Alontsau's outs, and when the 10♥ hit the river, the pot was sent over to Marques, and Alontsau was the day's first elimination.
