Tjenno Eskes Eliminated in 7th Place (€179,250)

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Tjenno Eskes
Tjenno Eskes

After it folded to Tjenno Eskes in the small blind, he called and Paul Runcan raised to 475,000 from the big blind. Eskes check-shoved for 3,050,000 and after thinking for a few moments, Runcan made the call to put Eskes at risk.

Tjenno Eskes: A6 All in
Paul Runcan: K10

Eskes was ahead with ace-high and just had to fade an unfortunate runout to double-up and remain in the tournament.

However, the dealer put out a flop of J9Q to give Runcan the nuts and leave Eskes needing running cards to win. The 9 came on the turn to cement Eskes' elimination from the tournament, as an inconsequential A appeared on the river.

Eskes headed to the rail in seventh as the remaining six players had secured their spots on Day 6 of the 2024 EPT Prague Main Event.

Siegfried Kapeller
Siegfried Kapeller

Siegfried Kapeller shoved from the hijack for 1,510,000 and Pedro Marques called from the cutoff.

Siegfried Kapeller: AQ All in
Pedro Marques: 99

Kapeller, who was sitting comfortable just moments ago, was now a coinflip away from being eliminated. His hopes of survival were severely dashed when Marques made a set on the 97J flop, but some hope arrived in the form of 10 on the turn as Kapeller picked up an open-ended straight draw. However, the A river wasn't what he needed, and Kapeller hit the rail.

Just like that, Kapeller’s rollercoaster journey came to an end.

Chisu needed to find an ace if he was to continue his deep run in the Main Event. However, the board ran out 59293 to keep Oz ahead with pocket eights. The pot was pushed to Oz and Chisu headed to the cashier's desk to collect his ninth place payout.

Vidar Oie Eliminated in 10th Place (€81,600)

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Vidar Oie
Vidar Oie

Barak Oz opened the action with a raise to 160,000 from under the gun, and Vidar Oie called from the big blind, setting up a heads-up flop.

The board came down KJ7, and Oie checked to Oz, who followed up with a 125,000 continuation bet. Oie wasted no time, moving all in for around 800,000. Oz quickly called, sending the hand to a showdown.

Oie showed K8, holding top pair with kings, but Oz revealed KQ, holding the same pair with the better kicker.

The 3 on the turn and 9 on the river didn't change a thing, sealing the pot for Oz and sending Oie to the rail just short of the unofficial final table.

Umberto Ruggeri Eliminated in 11th Place (€81,600)

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Umberto Ruggeri
Umberto Ruggeri

Jaehyung Park made it 160,000 from the hijack and Tjenno Eskes called on the button. Umberto Ruggeri had 650,000 in his stack in the small blind and instantly moved all in. When it got back to Park, he elected to fold, and Eskes dropped in the call, which put Ruggeri at risk.

Umberto Ruggeri: JJ All in
Tjenno Eskes: QJ

Ruggeri had found a premium at the right time, but needed to sweat a runout first before he could celebrate. A flop of 1086 kept his pocket jacks in the lead, but Eskes did add a gutshot to his outs list. One of those outs arrived on the 9 turn as Eskes improved to a straight, which meant Ruggeri was drawing to a chop. Only a queen could keep him alive, but the 2 river wasn't what he needed, and Ruggeri was out in eleventh.

Pedro Marques raised to 120,000 from early position and Alexander Sokolovsky three-bet jammed for 890,000 from the cutoff. After it folded back to Marques, he called to put Sokolovsky at risk.

Alexander Sokolovsky: KK All in
Pedro Marques: AK

Sokolovsky was in a great position to double-up if he could fade an ace or some hearts. The 73Q flop kept Sokolovsky ahead with his Cowboys. The 6 turn meant only an ace on the river would end his Main Event. A brutal A dropped on the river to give Marques the winner, and send Sokolovsky to the cashier's desk in twelfth place
