Charlier Dodges and Finds the Double

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sebastien Compte opened the action from the cutoff with a bet of 17,000, and two seats to his left, Denis Charlier moved all in from the small blind for approximately 50,000. Action folded back to Compte, who made the call.

Denis Charlier: AA All in
Sebastien Compte: A10

Charlier was in a great spot to double up in the first hand after the break. The dealer put out the J62 flop, giving his opponent a flush draw and the K on the turn gave even more outs for Charlier to dodge.

The board completed with the 7 on the river, and Charlier's aces held up, securing him the double up.

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Players at the table folded around to Razvan Gherghe, who moved all in with a short stack of just 35,000, less than five big blinds. Robin Zagorski called in the big blind and players turned their cards.

Razvan Gherghe: A10 All in
Robin Zagorski: 84

It was a monster hand for Gherghe to wake up with given the situation and Zagorski had made a pot odds call with a much weaker hand. The board ran out 62AQK and Gherghe paired his ace on the flop. He held to win the pot, doubling his stack.

Pistalo Wins Big Flip Against Stanevicius

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Aurimas Stanevicius opened the action to 16,000 and faced an all-in for approximately 250,000 from Davor Pistalo on his direct left. The action folded back to Stanevicius, who made the call.

Davor Pistalo: AK All in
Aurimas Stanevicius: 1010

Pistalo needed to hit something to stay alive in the tournament, and the Q7A flop greatly increased his chances. The 4 turn and K river didn't help Stanevicius, and Pistalo won the pot with his two pair and now has an above-average stack.

Grodek’s Nut Flush Leaves Mack in the Muck

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Stanislaw Grodek
Stanislaw Grodek

Stanislaw Grodek opened from under the gun and Adrian Mack three-bet the button to 35,000.

"You cover me, right?" asked Grodek when the action got back to him. Indeed, Mack did have the bigger stack, and Grodek called.

They saw a flop of 8Q6 where Grodek checked and Mack fired out 30,000. Grodek then went with a check-raise and made it 75,000, then Mack called.

A 3 dropped on the turn and Grodek reached for the bigger denomination chips, and fired out a bet of 100,000. Mack wasted no time in calling.

When the J completed the board on the river, Grodek put three of his timebanks into the pot and burned through one of them before he shoved for 393,000. Mack, who was chip leader after the restart, had a big decision on his hands and would have a monumental stack if he called with the best hand. After just ten seconds, he made the call.

Grodek then revealed the nuts with A9, and Mack's QJ was turned over for the table to see.

A massive pot for Grodek as he secured a huge double-up!

Pedro Marques open-raised from middle position and Nikita Kuznetsov moved all in from the big blind for 149,000. Marques made the call with the covering stack and players turned their cards.

Nikita Kuznetsov: AK All in
Pedro Marques: AQ

The flop came J2J, then the Q turn gave Marques a pair of queens. Kuznetsov was one card away from hitting the rail, but the K river gave him a pair of kings to win the pot and double up his stack.

Stanevicius Hits the Rail

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action folded to Denis Charlier on the button, who moved all in for approximately 95,000. Aurimas Stanevicius, with 40,000 in total, made the call, and the big blind folded.

Aurimas Stanevicius: 66 All in
Denis Charlier: AK

Stanevicius' tournament life was on the line, needing to dodge some high cards. However, the JA4 flop was not what he was looking for. Neither the 7 turn nor the 10 river improved his hand, and he was eliminated from the tournament.
