Santos Holds For a Knockout

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

With around 6,000 in the pot on a flop of 10QA, Fillipe Santos bet 1,600 from the button, then called when Olivier Machard moved all in for 8,900 in the small blind.

Olivier Machard: 54 All in
Fillipe Santos: AJ

Santos was ahead with top pair against Machard's flush draw. The 7 turn was no help to Machard, while the river came the Q and Machard was sent to the rail.

Osti's Big Slick Stacks Atmani

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Mercedes Osti
Mercedes Osti

There was an open from under the gun to 700, which Sabare Atmani called from the next seat. Mercedes Osti then put in a three-bet on the button to 2,600, which only Atmani called.

They went to the K8J flop, where Atmani check-called a bet of 3,000 from Osti to see the 3 turn. Atmani checked it over again, then Osti shoved. Atmani had around 9,500 behind and was well into the tank while he considered how to proceed.

During Atmani's thinking time, he exchanged words with Osti in French, which let out some giggles on the table. Eventually, Atmani did call off his stack.

Sabare Atmani: AJ All in
Mercedes Osti: AK

Only a jack on the river would keep Atmani alive, but the Q river wasnt what he needed, and Osti raked in a decent pot with her pair of kings as Atmani hit the rail.

Lucas Diedrichs

Dale Wilson three-bet to 3,700 in the small blind before Lucas DIedrichs four-bet to 8,000 in the hijack. Wilson called and they saw a flop of J72.

Diedrichs continued for 5,500 and Wilson called. The turn was the 8 and Diedrichs moved all in.

Wilson ripped off his sunglasses and tanked for a minute before calling. He showed QQ, but Diedrichs turned over AA and held on through the 3 river to secure the pot.

The stacks were counted down and Diedrichs had Wilson's remaining 13,000 covered, sending him to the rail.

Flavius Vlasiu

Maria Konnikova raised to 500 under the gun and Jeremy Routier three-bet to 1,500 in middle position. Jose Criado stuck in his last 2,000 from the button as action went on Flavius Vlasiu in the big blind. He reraised to 5,800, and both Konnikova and Routier got out of the way.

Jose Criado: 33 All in
Flavius Vlasiu: AK

The 648 flop gave Vlasiu the nut flush draw, and he hit his flush on the J turn to leave Criado drawing dead. The river was the 9 and Criado was sent to the rail.

Konnikova gave herself a pat on the back after the hand. "I had king-queen of spades. I really didn't want to fold, they were so pretty," she said.

Taieb Sniffs Out a Bluff to Bust Garcia

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
David Taieb
David Taieb

David Taieb raised to 300 in early position before Cristian Garcia three-bet to 1,000 in the big blind. Taieb then four-bet to 3,800 and Garcia called.

Garcia announced a bet of 3,000 on the 52K flop without realizing that Taieb had already bet 6,000. A tournament official and interpreter had to be called over to tell Garcia, who didn't speak much English, that he was forced to call Taieb's bet.

Both players checked the K turn before Garcia moved all in for 16,900 on the 8 river. Taieb agonized over the decision for several minutes, picking up the chips to call and lowering his head towards the table before putting them in the middle.

Garcia turned over A7 for a bluff, while Taieb showed AA to win the pot and send Garcia to the rail.

Arias Picks Off Antoniou

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

A full board of Q3K44 was out with around 12,000 in the middle when Alejandro Arias checked from the cutoff. Andreas Antoniou was on the button and took some time before he announced a bet of 9,000.

Arias was in the tank for around a minute and flicked in the call, then showed AQ for a pair of queens. That was good for the pot as Antoniou mucked.

Shortly after, Antoniou was seen leaving his seat and was eliminated.
