The remaining eight players will take a 20-minute break. Here are some highlights from the recent action.
Sebastian Ionita raised to 300,000 on the button and Umberto Zaffagnini and Marc Foggin both called in the blinds.
Ionita continued for 250,000 on the J♠2♦2♥ flop, and only Zaffagnini called. Ionita then bet 900,000 on the 6♦ turn and Zaffagnini again called.
Zaffagnini checked for a third time on the 7♦ river, and this time Ionita checked back. Zaffagnini banged the felt in celebration as he showed A♣7♣ for two pair, while Ionita mucked Q♠9♠.
Level: 31
Blinds: 75,000/150,000
Ante: 150,000
Thomas Eychenne raised to 280,000 from the button before Youssef Zereg three-bet jammed for 985,000 out of the small blind. When it got back to Eychenne, he quickly called to put Zereg at risk.
Youssef Zereg: A♠5♣
Thomas Eychenne: 6♠6♣
Zereg needed to find the ace or he would be the first to be eliminated from the final table.
A flop of 6♦3♠7♦ came down to give Eychenne a set, although Zereg actually increased his amount of outs with a straight draw. However, Zereg was drawing dead on the 7♠ turn as Eychenne improved to a boat. A meaningless J♠ landed on the river, and Zereg headed to the rail to collect his ninth-place payout.
Marc Foggin picked up K♥K♦ in the hijack and raised to 260,000. Tomasz Brzezinski called in the big blind.
The flop came Q♥4♣2♦ and Foggin bet 200,000. Brzezinski folded 8♠5♠.
Anton Suarez then raised to 240,000 in the cutoff with A♥4♣ and Brzezinski called on the button with 9♥9♣.
Suarez hit a pair of aces on the A♦Q♥2♠ flop and bet 220,000, and Brzezinski sent his nines into the muck.
From the hijack, Thomas Eychenne made it 240,000 with A♣7♦ before Sebastian Ionita three-bet the button to 720,000 holding Q♠Q♦. This was enough to get the blinds and Eychenne to fold, and Ionita pulled in the pot.
A few hands later, Anton Suarez min-raised 8♠8♥ to 240,000 from under the gun with Tomasz Brzezinski calling from the next seat with just the 10♣ showing, and Cesar Garcia defending his big blind holding 2♥2♦.
All three players checked the Q♥A♠5♣ flop to see the 5♦ hit the turn. Garcia and Suarez checked again, but Brzezinski bet 360,000. This got two folds from Brzezinski's opponents, and the pot went to him.
Umberto Zaffagnini raised to 240,000 in middle position before Julian Pineda Lozano picked up K♠K♣ in the hijack and three-bet to 720,000. Zaffagnini folded K♥Q♥.
Thomas Eychenne then raised on the button to 280,000, and Sebastian Ionita defended 6♦4♦.
The flop came 5♠2♦5♥ and Eychenne bet 220,000. Ionita then raised to 680,000 and Eychenne called.
The 6♠ fell on the turn and Ionita announced a bet of 820,000 with his two pair. He didn't even get a chance to put the chips in the middle before Eychenne sent K♥8♥ flying into the muck.
With 9♦5♣, Anton Suarez raised to 360,000 from the small blind and Tomasz Brzezinski defended his big blind holding K♣9♥.
The dealer fanned out a flop of K♠9♠8♦ and Suarez fired out a bet of 420,000. Brzezinski made the call.
A 7♥ hit the turn and Suarez opted to slow down and checked. Brzezinski bet 650,000, which was enough to get Suarez to fold.
