Carbo Captures Chip Lead With Huge Double

Ioannis Oikonomidis opened the action with a raise to 250,000 in the hijack. Gerard Carbo bumped it up to 875,000 in the small blind, which Oikonomidis called.

Carbo fired a bet of 475,000 on the 5♣9♠Q♦ flop, and doubled the amount to 950,000 on the 7♠ turn, both times being called by Oikonomidis.

The Q♥ river paired the board, prompting Carbo to check. After some thought, Oikonomidis put Carbo all in. Carbo wasted no time, immediately calling off his stack of 2,050,000.

Carbo revealed 9♥9♣ for a full house, and Oikonomidis buried his head in his arms as he showed K♣Q♣ for rivered trips.

Most of his stack was moved to the other side of the table as the Greek player was left with about 12 big blinds. Carbo, meanwhile, became the new chip leader of the tournament.

In a limped pot to the A♣A♦3♦ flop, Vasyl Palandiuk bet 125,000 from the small blind. Ioannis Oikonomidis then raised to 375,000 in the big blind, which Palandiuk quickly called.

The 9♦ turn and 10♥ river were checked to showdown, where Palandiuk won the pot with K♠10♦ for a rivered two pair.

On the next deal, Modar Alsoud raised to 250,000 in the cutoff, and Ivan Martinez called in the big blind.

The pair checked the 6♦2♣3♣ flop, prompting Martinez to bet 425,000 on the 2♥ turn. After Alsoud had called, Martinez reverted to checking on the 2♠ river.

Alsoud fired a bet of 675,000 in response, receiving a fold from Martinez and taking down the pot.

On the next deal, Carbo raised from the button and Palandiuk defended his big blind.

Palandiuk check-called bets of 175,000 and 550,000 on the flop and turn for the final board to read A♣2♣4♣Q♣A♠.

The river checked through, where Palandiuk tabled 5♣5♥, but it was bested by Carbo's J♣9♣.

Chipleader Evaldas Aniulis opened his button to 250,000. Scott Margereson flat-called in the big blind, and check-called when Aniulis continued for 150,000 on the 3♥A♦K♦ flop.

The 4♥ turn and 6♥ river were checked to showdown, where Margereson's K♥10♠ won the pot.

Over at the other table, Vasyl Palandiuk limped in from the small blind. Ioannis Oikonomidis checked his option in the big blind, and a 6♦4♥K♥ flop was fanned.

Palandiuk placed the minimum bet of 125,000, which Oikonomidis called. Both players then checked the 3♣ turn, after which Palandiuk bet 250,000 on the 10♠ river.

Oikonomidis quickly folded, shipping the small pot to Palandiuk.

After getting a shove through in the previous hand, Martin Bartos jammed once more, this time for 1,350,000 from under the gun. It folded to Donato De Bonis, who moved all-in as the bigger stack, from the small blind. Gerard Carbo got out of the way in the big blind and the cards were tabled.

Bartos remained ahead after the K♥6♣5♣ flop and J♣ turn but the 8♣ river gave De Bonis a better flush to lock up the bust out.
