2025 has been a breakthrough year for the PokerStars Open (PSO) tour, with packed fields, thrilling finals, and players from all over Europe chasing titles across the new regional circuit.
And now, the debut season will end on the French Riviera, one of the most glamorous ways possible.
The final stop of the year, PokerStars Open Cannes running from December 16–21, lands in the Palace of Festivals and Congresses of Cannes, the same venue that hosts the world-famous film festival.
Cannes offers the perfect stage for PSO’s curtain call, and the first-ever PokerStars League Awards, where the season’s standout performers will be honoured.
The field has been sent on a 20-minute break.
Enrico Campanile bet 25,000 from middle position on a flop of 2♠Q♦6♥ and S.K. called on the button.
The turn was the J♦ and Campanile bet another 70,000. S.K. again called, and the 6♠ fell on the river. Campanile then bet 195,000, but this time S.K. moved all in.
"Ai, ai, ai, so sick," Campanile said as he went deep into the tank while considering the decision for his last 120,000, taking up several minutes into the break.
"It's not a bluff," he eventually said before folding, and S.K. took the pot without showing.
"After two days of surviving all the time, I finally get aces. I build up a big stack, but now I have to survive again," Campanile said as he joined the rest of the field on break.
Grzegorz Kozieja and Robert Schulz had built a pot of 260,000 when the 3♠K♥5♥A♠7♠ river was dealt. Kozieja placed a small bet of 35,000 under the gun, which sent Schulz into the tank.
After a minute or so, Schulz announced an all-in bet. Kozieja instantly called for his stack of 233,000 and tabled K♠Q♠ for the nut flush.
Schulz's J♠J♥ was no match, and he paid Kozieja off as he saw his stack dwindle to about 30 big blinds.
Anastasios Vardalis raised to 20,000 under the gun, Dylan Lambert moved all in for 138,000 in middle position, and Vardalis called.
Dylan Lambert: A♦K♦
Anastasios Vardalis: K♠K♥
Lambert needed to improve against Vardalis' kings, and the 3♦J♠8♦ flop gave him additional outs with a flush draw. The 10♦ turn improved him to a flush, and Vardalis paid off the double up once the A♥ completed the board on the river.
Richard Trigg open-raised in the hijack, and Salvatore Fiordelisi three-bet to 40,000 on the button. Trigg then moved all in for 197,000, which Fiordelisi called after getting a count.
Richard Trigg: 8♦8♣
Salvatore Fiordelisi: 10♥10♦
Trigg did not find an eight on the A♦7♦2♦A♥4♣ board, eliminating him from the PokerStars Open.
