Schaff Finds Trips to Bust Hietalahti

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Jussi Hietalahti got his short stack of around 12,000 into the middle, with Aaron Schaff trying to send him home slightly earlier than he had planned.

Jussi Hietalahti: Q♦Q♥ All in
Aaron Schaff: K♦J♠

Hietalahti needed to fade a king on the runout, but was unable to do so as Schaff improved to trip kings on the 7♦K♠2♠K♥7♠ board, sending all of Hietalahti's chips his way.

Watts Rivers Straight Flush to Remove Suokas

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Steve Watts
Steve Watts

Jarkko Suokas moved all-in for 11,500 from under the gun, and once the action folded to Steve Watts in the big blind, he called.

Jarkko Suokas: A♣10♠ All in
Steve Watts: 6♥6♣

There was no help for Suokas on the 4♦7♣3♣ flop, and when the 5♣ hit the turn to give Watts a straight, Suokas was looking to find a club on the river to survive.

The river was indeed a club, but the 4♣ was no help to Suokas, as Watts improved to a straight flush, much to the delight of everyone at the table, Suokas excluded.

Di Giacomo Felts Machado

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Lucas Diniz raised to 2,000 under the gun and Hugo Machado jammed from middle position for about 13,000. Claudio Di Giacomo four-bet to approximately 26,000 from the big blind, which forced Diniz out.

Hugo Machado: 8♥8♣ All in
Claudio Di Giacomo: J♥J♠

Machado had an uphill battle ahead of him against Di Giacomo's bigger pair, and that climb got even steeper when the Q♣6♠J♦ flop gave Di Giacomo a set.

Machado picked up an out when the 8♠ landed on the turn, but the miracle of backdoor quads didn't arrive on the K♥ river, sending him to the rail.

Diniz Flushes Out Graells' Set

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Ricardo Graells
Ricardo Graells

Ricardo Graells raised to 1,600 from the cutoff and Lucas Diniz three-bet to 6,400 from the big blind. Graells continued with a call.

The A♦2♠J♠ flop came down and Diniz fired for 3,900. Graells called.

Diniz hit the brakes on the 5♠ turn and checked, allowing Graells to bet 6,600. Diniz responded by check-jamming, and Graells called for his remaining 27,500.

Ricardo Graells: 2♦2♣ All in
Lucas Diniz: A♣Q♠

Graells was in front with his set of deuces, although Diniz had plenty of hope with a flush draw.

That hope turned into a winner when the 9♠ landed on the river to complete Diniz's flush, sending Graells to the rail with nothing but a bad beat story to tell.

"Don't Play Like This Tomorrow"

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Mohamed-Said Taghla
Mohamed-Said Taghla

With 31,300 in his stack, Mohamed-Said Taghla found a way to get all of his chips across the betting line from the small blind, with Gustavo Morales trying to send him to the rail from the big blind.

Mohamed-Said Taghla: J♠J♦ All in
Gustavo Morales: Q♦J♥

Taghla was the favorite with his pocket jacks, but the 7♥A♣Q♥ flop sent his chances tumbling as Morales spiked a queen.

Neither the 10♠ turn nor 5♥ river offered Taghla any help, sending him to the rail while Morales moved up to over two starting stacks.

Taghla wished his tablemates good luck before departing, but not before leaving Morales with one final piece of advice for the road ahead.

"Don't play like this tomorrow."

More Chips on the Menu for Herzog

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Tal Herzog
Tal Herzog

Tal Herzog had the chance to send Natalia Nikitina and Sebastian Trela to the rail just after the dinner break, after all three got their chips into the middle preflop.

Natalia Nikitina: Q♦Q♣ All in
Sebastian Trela: A♣J♠ All in
Tal Herzog: A♥K♥

Herzog picked up a flush draw on the 3♥10♣10♥ flop before taking the lead by pairing his king on the K♣ turn.

The 2♣ river was as blank as they come, sending Nikitina and Trela to the rail.

Preziosi Sends Asanov Packing

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Fulvio Preziosi raised to 1,200 from early position and Chubak Asanov called from the next seat. David Wintersberger squeezed to 3,000 from the hijack, which Preziosi and Asanov both called.

All three were happy to check the J♣K♠4♥ flop before the 3♠ rolled off on the turn. Preziosi led out for 9,500, and only Asanov called.

The 5♦ completed the board, prompting Preziosi to shove, covering Asanov.

Asanov quickly called off his stack of about 20,000, but was shown the bad news as Preziosi tabled K♣J♦ for two pair. Asanov could only show A♥K♦ for a pair of kings, sending all of his chips Preziosi's way.

Terrible Flop Sends Margereson Home

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Scott Margereson
Scott Margereson

From the button, Scott Margereson was all in for about 15,000, with Giovanni La Padula trying to win them all from the small blind.

Scott Margereson: A♦J♠ All in
Giovanni La Padula: A♥10♥

Margereson was in a good position to double, but that changed when the dealer fanned the 10♣5♠7♣ flop, giving La Padula top pair.

No help arrived on the 7♦ turn or 8♥ river for Margereson, making him the newest Main Event casualty.
