On one of the last hands of the night, Alexander Ivarsson made it 24,000 under the gun, and Sebastian Malec three-bet the small blind to 36,000.
Ivarsson four-bet to 90,000, and after using a time bank, Malec said "raise" and tried to put in more chips, but it was deemed a min-raise, and he was forced to make it 149,000.
Ivarsson thought for a bit, looked over at Malec, and then ripped it for around 700,000. Malec snap-called.
Alexander Ivarsson: 8♦8♣
Sebastian Malec: K♦K♥
Ivarsson got it in with the lesser hand and needed a date with an eight, or he would be eliminated just before the end of Day 3.
The 10♣9♦Q♦ flop didn't help Ivarsson, and neither did the 2♠ turn. A 5♣ completed the board, and all of Ivarsson's chips were sent over to Malec.
Edward Pak raised the button to 24,000 and Gareth McMahon jammed from the small blind for 95,000. Pak thought it over for a while before making the call.
Gareth McMahon: A♠Q♥
Edward Pak: K♦7♦
McMahon was out of his seat as he was at risk, and he fell well behind when Pak spiked two pair on the 7♣4♠K♣ flop.
The 6♥ turn cemented McMahon's elimination, making the Q♦ river a mere formality.
Jacek Skiscim raised to 25,000 under the gun. Fabricio Nociolini responded with a three-bet to 70,000 in the hijack, which Skiscim reraised to 215,000. Nociolini called, and a 5♠J♠2♥ flop was dealt.
Skiscim tossed in a continuation-bet of 85,000. Nociolini called again, after which the Q♦ turn was checked through.
The river fell the 10♦. Skiscim promptly moved in his stack of 335,000. Nociolini requested a count, but he did not need to hear the final number before deciding to call.
Skiscim sighed as he revealed A♦8♥ for a stone-cold bluff. Nociolini tabled Q♠Q♥ for top set, sending Skiscim to the exit and raking in the seven-figure pot.
Joris Ruijs raised the button to 24,000 and Arturo Rodriguez called from the small blind. Jianxing Kuang shoved from the big blind for 148,000, which only Ruijs called.
Jianxing Kuang: A♥Q♥
Joris Ruijs: 10♣9♣
Kuang was ahead with ace-high, but Ruijs had the favorite hand of many poker players around the world.
The Q♦8♠3♠ flop gave Kuang top pair and Ruijs a gutshot straight draw.
Ruijs received instant service on the J♦ turn, improving to the nuts.
Kuang was drawing dead, making the 5♣ river inconsequential. Kuang headed to the rail, while Ruijs' stack climbed to almost two million.
Manuel Ferrari raised to 24,000 from middle position, and next to act, Oleh Pritsak moved all-in for 215,000. When the action folded to Adrian Chiforescu in the small blind, he also moved all-in, putting his 159,000 at risk. Ferrari asked for a count of both stacks, but then chose to fold.
Adrian Chiforescu: A♥J♠
Oleh Pritsak: 8♥8♦
The window card was good news for Chiforescu, but bad news followed on the action A♠8♠K♠ flop. Already with a flush draw, Chiforescu picked up extra outs on the J♣ turn, but the 2♥ river was a brick, and Chiforescu's Main Event race was run.
Arriving on the 4♠A♣J♣10♦3♣ river in a big pot of 550,000, Sebastian Malec shoved all in from under the gun. Miroslav Rizov's 560,000 was covered, and he spent a few minutes in the tank before eventually giving up on the pot with a fold.
During the hand, Oleg Vasylchenko got his stack of 355,000 in from the small blind at another table, being put at risk by Fabricio Nociolini in the cutoff.
Oleg Vasylchenko: 10♦10♣
Fabricio Nociolini: 3♦3♣
Nociolini was down to just two outs after the 4♣J♠5♣Q♣ flop and turn, but he hit one of them on the 3♠ river to send Vasylchenko packing.
Joao Webber raised to 20,000 in early position, which Alexander Ivarsson called in the cutoff. Ivo Colaco then three-bet to 45,000 on the button, which removed Webber, but Ivarsson called once again.
When Ivarsson checked on the J♠2♣4♣ flop, Colaco continued with a bet of 45,000, leaving roughly 200,000 behind in his stack. Ivarsson didn't hang around to try to get the remaining chips in, check-jamming, with Colaco's stack comfortably covered. After some time in the tank, Colaco elected to call.
Ivo Colaco: A♥K♣
Alexander Ivarsson: 6♣5♣
Colaco had sniffed out that his ace-high was the best hand, but his decision to call was quickly punished as the 5♦ turn saw Ivarsson take the lead.
The 3♣ completed the board, with Ivarsson eliminating Colaco in style after rivering a straight flush.
