Quads for a Million! Player Turns $5 into $1M in PokerStars Spin & Go

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
PokerStars Spin & Go
PokerStars Spin & Go

More than 87% of the time, anyone who enters a $5 buy-in Spin & Go tournament online at PokerStars will be playing for a prize pool of either double or three times their buy-in. However, a recent $5 Spin & Go was special because the 240,000x jackpot multiplier was triggered, meaning the trio of entrants was playing for a gargantuan $1.2 million prize pool. The chances of that happening? 0.10 in a million!

PokerStars Spin & Go tournaments are a winner-takes-all when the prize pool multiplier is between 2x and 5x. The top two finishers win a slice of the pie when a 10x is hit, with anything 25x or larger paying out all three entrants.

When "KuCoH" of Belarus, Brazil's "malakaio300," and Denmark's "dillerfar19" bought into a $5 Spin & Go, the prize pool selector stopped on the ultra-rare 240,000x!

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Alan Raymundo raised to 500 in middle position, which Ivan Poroliev called in the cutoff, and Tomas Patka called in the small blind.

Raymundo continued for 800 on an A104 flop, which saw Poroliev fold, but Patka check-called.

The 4 turn paired the board, and this time Patka check-folded when Raymundo fired another barrel for 2,300.

Lee Chips Up With Third Pair

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Jon Persent raised to 500 under the gun and Massimo Giovando called from the next position. Min-Sung Lee squeezed to 2,100 from middle position, which Persent and Giovando both called.

All three checked the 463 flop before the Q landed on the turn. Persent checked and Giovando bet 2,000, with only Lee sticking around.

Both players checked the J river and Giovando tabled AK for a missed flush draw. Lee turned over 76 for a pair of sixes to earn the pot.

Berkvens Triples, Naydenov Leaves Martinez with Crumbs

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Picking up the action on an 8910 flop with 7,800 already in the pot, two players checked to Simeon Naydenov on the button, who bet 4,000. Borja Martinez check-called from the big blind, but Bram Berkvens check-jammed for 15,200 from middle position.

Naydenov responded by moving all-in himself for 35,400, and Martinez immediately put his own 36,900 into the middle.

Bram Berkvens: KJ All in
Simeon Naydenov: 99 All in
Borja Martinez: A10

All three players had connected with the flop in a big way, but the Q turn and 5 river favoured Berkvens, improving him to a straight and ensuring him a triple-up.

Naydenov's set held on to claim the substantial side pot, leaving Martinez with less than ten big blinds.

Both players checked the 9 river and Sanchez showed KJ for a pair of kings. Zabrodskyy tabled A3 for a pair of aces to take down the pot.

Classic Cooler Ends Knafo

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Stephane Knafo
Stephane Knafo

Rostyslav Hertsyk raised to 600 under the gun and Stephane Knafo three-bet from the next seat to 2,000. Lucas Borges cold four-bet to 4,500 from middle position, and the action folded back to Hertsyk.

Hertsyk took another look at his cards before jamming for about the starting stack. Knafo stuck his stack of 25,000 into the middle, which got Borges to fold what he said after the hand was big slick.

Stephane Knafo: KK All in
Rostyslav Hertsyk: AA

It was poker's classic preflop cooler, with Knafo firmly on the wrong end of it.

No help arrived for Knafo on the 85Q69 runout, sending him to the rail almost six days earlier than he would have dreamed of.
