Oleh Pritsak raised to 40,000 from middle position and John Juanda three-bet the small blind to 110,000. Pritsak looked across the table at the Poker Hall of Famer, then, without shifting his gaze, four-bet ripped it in for about 475,000. Juanda quickly called with the covering stack.

Jose Quintas raised to 40,000 from under the gun, which Jonas ten Cate called in the hijack. Matas Cimbolas then three-bet to 120,000 on the button. Quintas responded by moving all-in for 590,000, which immediately shook out Ten Cate, but Cimbolas snap-called.

Once the stacks were counted, it transpired that Cimbolas had 585,000 in his stack and was the player at risk.

The 10♥4♠5♣K♠2♠ board brought some hope for Quintas on the turn, but his straight draw came to nothing, and with just 5,000 after the collision, he was eliminated a couple of hands later.

Mihai Tabac limped in from the small blind, and when Edward Pak raised to 65,000 in the big blind, Tabac called.

Tabac checked to Pak on a 6♣J♦2♠ flop, and Pak continued for 40,000, which Tabac called. The A♥ turn followed the same sequence, as Tabac checked before calling when Pak bet again, this time for 115,000.

The 6♠ completed the board, and Tabac checked a third time. Pak wasn't done betting quite yet, though, and put 120,000 into the middle. Tabac went deep into the tank, utilising four time extensions before ultimately calling. Pak flipped over A♦8♦ for a turned top pair, and Tabac immediately tossed his cards into the muck.

Araujo was in trouble against the bigger ace of Kaukua and needed some hearts or a jack to stay alive.

The 4♣A♦9♦ flop paired both players, while Kaukua's queen-kicker kept Araujo on the verge of elimination.

The rest of the board ran out 9♣2♥, and Araujo became the newest casualty of the Main Event.

Paolo Boi raised to 40,000 from middle position and Mark Teltscher three-bet the hijack to 110,000. Boi four-bet to 200,000 and Teltscher jammed for 495,000. Boi instantly called.

"That is a shame," commented Teltscher after seeing he had the mammoth task of overcoming pocket rockets.

Fortunately for Teltscher, it wasn't his time to go, as the dealer fanned the J♥J♠4♥ flop to give him quads and leave Boi needing a miracle of his own.

The 3♦ turn cemented Teltscher's double, making the 9♦ river a mere formality.

Teltscher's disappointment had quickly turned into delight as he cracked Boi's aces and secured the huge double-up.

Cimbolas responded with a raise of his own, four-betting to 280,000. Zheng then put the hammer down, five-bet shoving for 1,250,000. Cimbolas wasted little time in surrendering, as he returned his cards to the dealer.
