Ran Shahar opened to 400 in middle position, and the player in the small blind called. Stanislav Anufriiev responded from the big blind with a squeeze to 2,800. Shahar called, but the small blind folded.
Anufriiev checked straight away on the 4♠10♦J♦ flop, and just as quickly returned his cards to the dealer when Shahar bet 2,500.
It proved to be well-timed, as Shahar flipped over 10♥10♣ to reveal a flopped set.
Amaury Mamou-Mani and Francesco Voltolina had amassed a pot of 14,200 when they arrived on the Q♥9♥5♦ flop. Mamou-Mani then bet 5,000 under the gun.
Voltolina responded with an instant all-in worth 22,900, and Mamou-Mani called with a covering stack after spending some time in the tank.

The dealer spread a K♣2♣K♠ flop, and when Petrone continued for 1,100, Arapov called again.
Petrone put out a more sizeable 3,000 on the 9♣ turn, which again, Arapov called.
The 5♥ river completed the board, but did nothing to slow Petrone down, who bet 7,200. Arapov took some time over the decision, ultimately choosing to call.
Petrone flipped over A♠K♦ for trips, and Arapov mucked his cards.
Vasileios Panagiotidis opened the action with a raise to 300 in early position. Alejandro Vazquez made it 1,000 to go in the next seat over, which Cesar Garcia cold-called in the big blind. Panagiotidis also came along.
The trio checked through the 8♦Q♣6♦ flop, and Garcia continued checking on the 9♥ turn. Panagiotidis then took a stab at the pot with a bet of 1,200, seeing Vazquez call. Garcia had other plans, however, and bumped it up to 7,200.
Panagiotidis instantly mucked his cards, but Vazquez called after some thought. The 9♠ river prompted a quick all-in from Garcia, sending Vazquez into the tank.
After some time, Vazquez tossed in a calling chip. Garcia stood up as he turned over 7♥7♦. Garcia became the first elimination of Day 1b when Vazquez tabled K♦9♦ for rivered trips, and he quickly exited the tournament area.
Vincenzo Dalessio kicked the action off with a raise to 300 from early position. Leonardo Gabaglia responded with a three-bet to 900 from the cutoff, which both Scott Wellenbach on the button and Dalessio called.
The dealer spread a J♥10♠7♣ flop, and the action checked to Wellenbach, who bet 2,000. Dalessio folded, but Gabaglia called.
Gabaglia checked for a second time on the 3♣ turn, and Wellenbach checked behind.
The Q♠ river completed the board, and when Gabaglia put 3,000 into the middle, Wellenbach called before being shown bad news.
Gabaglia had rivered Broadway with A♦K♦, prompting Wellenbach to muck his hand.
The action was picked up on a Q♣5♣4♥ flop. With 11,000 already in the middle, Elvis Petcu, in the big blind, check-raised Gianfranco Iaculli's earlier bet to 11,500. Ianculli called in middle position, and the dealer flipped over the 5♠ turn.
Petcu then put Iaculli all-in for his 6,500 remaining chips, and Iaculli snap-called for his tournament life.

Seeing a raise from the cutoff and three-bet from Blaz Zerjav on the button ahead of him, Scott Wellenbach put in a four-bet to 3,000 from the small blind. The original raiser folded, but with action back on Zerjav, he five-bet to 26,500.
Wellenbach studied his stack, which was nearly entirely covered by the bet. After a moment's deliberation, he opted to return his cards to the dealer.
Toni Kaukua and Richard Oliver were heads up in a pot of roughly 1,800. The flop read 2♥10♦6♣, and Oliver checked in the cutoff. Kaukua then fired 900 on the button, which Oliver called.
Kaukua sized up to 3,000 on the 9♥ turn. Oliver check-called again, leading to the 10♥ appearing on the river. After a third check from Oliver, Kaukua made it 7,000 to go.
Oliver gave it some thought but decided to fold his hand after a minute or so.
