Tahar Said
Tahar Said

Seeing the completed board of A5429, with around 200,000 in the pot, Tahar Said checked under the gun before Renzo Pedrotti moved all in for 158,000 in the hijack.

Said went deep into the tank, spending several time banks before flicking in a calling chip. Pedrotti tabled JJ for a pair of jacks, which won him the pot, as Said had put his opponent on pure air and called with K10.

Ye Eliminated One from Pay Jump

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Yi Ye
Yi Ye

Keith Johnson raised to 16,000 in the hijack, and both Jose Malpelli in the cutoff and Yi Ye in the big blind called.

Ye checked to Johnson, who bet another 16,000 on the 1097 flop. Malpelli called again, and Ye then went into the tank.

With less than one big blind in her stack, but with the tournament poised on a pay jump, Ye spread all her time extensions out in front of her. One by one, the dealer took them, before Ye then put her 7,000 into the middle.

The Q turn card joined the board, and Johnson check-folded to a bet of 25,000.

Yi Ye: K6 All in
Jose Malpelli: 33

The pocket threes held up on the 5 river, and Ye was eliminated.

Mestre's Massive Call Wins Biggest Pot of Tournament

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Raul Mestre
Raul Mestre

Picking up the action on a 635 flop, Yurii Zabrodotskyi bet 25,000 under the gun, and Raul Mestre raised to 85,000 in the hijack. Zabrodotskyi called to the 7 turn, which both players checked.

Zabrodostkyi then made a gargantuan shove of 615,000 when the 10 river appeared, a bet worth around three times the pot. Mestre went deep into the tank, talking to himself while agonizing over his decision.

Eventually, he slammed in a tower of chips to call. Zabrodotskyi could only show ace-high with A9, and Mestre let out a sigh of relief as he triumphantly showed 44 for a straight.

Zabrodotskyi hurried out of the tournament area, while Mestre stacked up his new chips and retook his lead over the rest of the field.
