Thomas Eychenne opened to 30,000 under the gun. It folded to big blind Benjamin Pollak, who shoved all in for 330,000. Eychenne quickly called to put his neighbor at risk.
Benjamin Pollak: A♦K♥
Thomas Eychenne: 10♥10♦
Eychenne flopped a set on 10♠5♥Q♥, leaving Pollak drawing to a gutshot. Pollak's straight did not come in on the 6♦ turn or 4♣ river, leaving him empty-handed.
Pollak departed the table to pick up his payout, seeing Eychenne chip up and eclipse the two-million mark.
Rodrigo Selouan opened to 30,000 on the button, and Nikita Kuznetsov three-bet to 110,000 from the small blind. Jacques Der Megreditchian then moved all in from the big blind for 105,000, and Selouan came along.
Kuznetsov continued with a bet of 75,000 on the 5♥2♣4♠ flop, and Selouan called again.
The 8♠ turn card slowed Kuznetsov down, as he checked his option. Taking over the betting lead, Selouan slid 180,000 into the middle, which Kuznetsov called.
When the J♣ river completed the board, Kuznetsov checked again. On this occasion, he snap-folded when Selouan announced an all-in for 265,000.
Der Megreditchian flipped over J♥8♥ to reveal he had rivered two pair, but it was no good, as Selouan had turned top set with his 8♦8♣.
With the action folded around to him on the button, Lucas Blanco moved all in for 90,000 on the button. Nikita Kuznetsov called in the big blind, putting Blanco at risk.
Lucas Blanco: 10♠9♦
Nikita Kuznetsov: A♦8♥
Blanco found some extra outs when the turn card landed on a J♣2♦2♥8♠ board, but the J♦ river was unforthcoming, seeing him eliminated in 37th place.
Bernhard Binder in early position and Artsiom Lasouski in middle position had amassed a pot of 225,000 when they saw the 3♣Q♣Q♠K♣10♠ river. Binder checked to Lasouski, who bet 85,000.
Binder then assembled a gargantuan raise to 500,000 and slid it into the middle. Lasouski sighed as he quickly called.
Binder tabled K♦Q♦ for a full house, and Lasouski frustratedly showed his A♠J♣ for a rivered straight as he was left with under 20 big blinds to play with.
When the action folded to Stefan Dimitrov in the small blind, he moved all in, covering the stack of Dietrich Fast in the big blind. Fast took a look at his cards and then a look at the tournament screen before calling.
Dietrich Fast: A♥3♦
Stefan Dimitrov: A♦K♣
It wasn't a hand that Fast would have wanted to see, and when the 10♦2♥6♦2♠7♠ board offered no help, he was the latest player to fall.
Laurent Polito opened to 45,000 from the hijack, which only Miroslav Rizov in the small blind called.
Rizov checked in flow on the K♦8♥9♣ flop, and Polito continued with a bet of 40,000. Rizov responded with a check-raise to 95,000, and, almost as quickly as he had slid the raise into the middle, Polito moved all in for 210,000, which Rizov called.
Laurent Polito: A♥A♦
Miroslav Rizov: K♥10♥
The 8♦ turn wiped out some of Rizov's outs, leaving him requiring one of the two remaining kings in the deck.
However, it was the Q♠ that completed the board, and Polito had his double up.
It folded to Thomas Eychenne in the small blind, who raised to 80,000. Stefan Dimitrov called in the big blind and called again when Eychenne continued for 60,000 on the A♠7♥6♦ flop.
Eychenne then fired a pot-sized bet of 300,000 on the 6♠ turn. After some thought, Dimitrov called once more, and the subsequent 4♦ river was checked to showdown.
Eychenne hesitantly showed his 9♠8♠ for nine-high, leaving Dimitrov to take the sizable pot with A♥3♦ for top pair.
Raul Mestre opened the action with a raise to 45,000 in the cutoff, which only Leonard Maue called on the button.
Mestre continued for 40,000 on the 4♦6♥K♥ flop, and again, Maue called.
There was no slowing down on the J♦ turn, as Mestre put 105,000 into the middle. This time, Maue responded with a raise, making it 350,000 to go, and Mestre called.
Mestre checked on the 3♠ river, and Maue quickly checked behind.
When Mestre flipped over Q♣J♥, Maue mucked his cards face down.
