Wheeler Chips Up Against Leader

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

The short-stacked Jason Wheeler raised to 100,000 under the gun. Bernhard Binder was next to act and placed a small three-bet to 215,000, seeing Wheeler toss in a call.

Wheeler check-called Binder's continuation-bet of 55,000 on the QAJ flop, after which the 9 was checked by both players.

Wheeler bet 375,000 on the 8 river, which was more than half his stack. Binder quickly mucked, and Wheeler's stack moved back above the seven-figure mark.

Lahmani Correctly Folds Two Pair

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Oshri Lahmani
Oshri Lahmani

Oshri Lahmani flicked in a raise to 100,000 under the gun with Q9. It folded to Samuel Ju in the big blind, who obliged with a call holding K6. Lahmani continued for 75,000 on the Q2K flop, and Ju check-called.

The A turn gave Ju the nut flush and was checked through to the 9 river, which gave Lahmani two pair. Ju bet enough to put Lahmani to the test for his last 400,000. Lahmani went into the tank, spending one of his time banks before finding the fold to stay alive in the Main Event.

Cortazar Pays Ju Off

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Samuel Ju opened to 100,000 in the cutoff. Xavier Cortazar looked down at his cards in the big blind and called.

Ju tossed in another 100,000 on the 3K7 flop. Cortazar check-called, after which both checked the 6 turn.

The 4 river completed the board. Cortazar led out for 50,000 but was raised to 150,000 by Ju. Cortazar spent one time bank before calling with J7, but his hero-call proved fruitless as Ju had rivered a straight with A5.

Wheeler Experiences Kicker Issues

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

The action folded around to the blinds, and when Jason Wheeler limped in, Bernhard Binder checked his option.

Wheeler put 50,000 into the middle on the 6KQ flop, and Binder called before both players checked on the 10 turn.

The board was made complete by the 5, and Wheeler picked his betting lead back up, putting 225,000 into the middle. Binder called and tabled the winner with Q9 after Wheeler flipped over his Q7, for the same pair, but a lower kicker.

Malpelli Attempts to Trap Stoica

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

It folded to Jose Malpelli in the small blind, who made the minimum raise to 100,000. Roman Stoica tossed in a quick call in the big blind, and called again when Malpelli added another 100,000 to the pot on the 52Q flop.

The 7 turn and Q river were then checked to showdown. Malpelli revealed A5 for the nut flush, and Stoica tabled the 4 before he mucked his other card.

Malpelli Exercises Caution

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jose Malpelli raised to 100,000 from the hijack, which only Bernhard Binder called in the big blind.

On a 104J flop, Binder check-called a bet of 150,000 before action checked through on the 3 turn card.

The K completed the board, and when Binder checked for a third time, Malpelli checked back.

Malpelli flipped over KJ for two pair, and Binder mucked his cards.

Miroslav Rizov pushed all in for 620,000 on the button, and was called by Xavier Cortazar in the small blind.

Miroslav Rizov: KJ All in
Xavier Cortazar: A9

Rizov flopped a flush draw on 388 for some extra outs, although the 4 turn was of no help. The 5 river completed his draw, however, and he happily raked in his double-up.

Bernhard Binder

Bernhard Binder made it 100,000 to go in the cutoff. It folded to Roman Stoica in the big blind, who opted to call.

Stoica check-called Binder's continuation-bet of 175,000 on the Q32 flop, and did the same when Binder sized up to 275,000 on the 9 turn. The 10 river was also checked by Stoica.

Binder then spent one of his time banks before he announced an overbet of 1,500,000. Stoica quickly released his cards as Binder saw his lead grow even further.
