Fan Finds Aces; Frenchies Battle in Blinds

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Roman Stoica raised his K9 to 250,000 in the cutoff. Longmao Fan used one of his time banks before three-betting to 750,000 in the small blind with AA. Stoica did not want to battle any further and released his cards.

One hand later, David Djian limped in 74 from the small blind, and Jose Malpelli checked his option in the big blind with K5.

Djian check-called his fellow countryman's bet of 175,000 on the 10Q7 flop, but gave up on the pot when Malpelli sized up to 350,000 when he turned a flush on the 6.

Ju Doubles Through Binder's Barrels

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante
Samuel Ju
Samuel Ju

Chipleader Bernhard Binder opened his button to 250,000 . Samuel Ju called in the big blind and check-called Binder's bet of 175,000 on the 2J3 flop.

Binder sized up to 550,000 on the A turn. Ju spent one time bank before check-calling, seeing him check a third time on the 10 river.

Binder put the ultimate pressure on Ju by moving all in, sending Ju into the tank once again. Ju disassembled his towers of chips to properly count them, and shook his head a few times as he thought things through.

After four time extensions, Ju decided to call for his tournament life. Binder could only show a stone-cold bluff with his 94. Ju tabled A2 for two pair, and he raked in a double-up worth nearly 45 big blinds.

Fan Jams on Ju; Binder Shows Same Jacks Back-to-Back

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Samuel Ju opened 44 to 250,000 in the cutoff. Longmao Fan was on the button and shoved in his stack of 2,125,000 with AJ. Ju asked for a count but ultimately deemed it too much and mucked.

The next hand, Binder showed JJ to the table. On the next deal, Binder received the exact same cards in the small blind, taking down the pot with a raise to 375,000.

He again tabled his hand, eliciting some laughs from the other players.

No Miracle for Malpelli

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Longmao Fan raised it up to 250,000 under the gun. Jose Malpelli then moved in his remaining 2,000,000 from the cutoff, and Bernhard Binder called on the button.

Fan quickly folded his K10, leaving Binder and Malpelli to show down.

Jose Malpelli: AK All in
Bernhard Binder: AK

The A384 turn brought a sweat for the two players, as Malpelli had turned a flush draw. The river came the innocuous 4, however, and the pot was consequently chopped between the two Big Slicks.

Raul Mestre
Raul Mestre

Raul Mestre was on the button, and he made it 250,000. Bernhard Binder tanked a while in the big blind before announcing a three-bet to 1,000,000.

Mestre did not take long before moving all in for 5,325,000, only to be snapped off by Binder.

Raul Mestre: K9 All in
Bernhard Binder: AK

Mestre's move proved to be ill-timed, and he could only look on as the K62105 runout did nothing to prevent his elimination.

The PokerStars ambassador left his third EPT final table in seventh place, while Binder dragged the immense eight-figure pot to reclaim his spot atop the counts.

Djian Ascends Further

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Samuel Ju was on the button, looking down at 107. David Djian spent one time bank in the big blind before defending KQ, and looked on as he flopped trips on 2KK.

Djian played it slow by just check-calling Ju's bet of 200,000 and checking again on the subsequent 4 turn. Ju quickly checked back, and he mucked his cards when Djian aggressed on the 5 river with a bet of 325,000.

Stoica Takes From Fan

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

It folded to Roman Stoica on the button, who raised it up to 250,000 with Q9. Longmao Fan called with 108 in the big blind, after which he checked the 68Q flop over to Stoica.

Stoica flicked in a bet of 225,000, and Fan quickly called. The dealer placed the K on the turn. Fan checked for a second time, seeing Stoica size up to 375,000 in response.

Fan carefully counted his chips before releasing his pair, and the chips were sent Stoica's way.

Mestre Creates Gap With Ju

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Raul Mestre looked down at his cards in the hijack and made it 250,000 to go. Samuel Ju defended his big blind, and check-called Mestre's continuation-bet of 150,000 on the 2Q9 flop.

Mestre fired again on the 2 turn, sizing up to 350,000. Ju check-called again before the K river was checked to showdown. Ju tabled A9 for nines and deuces, but Mestre had the better hand with JJ to drag the pot.

David Djian made it 250,000 to go in the cutoff, and Bernhard Binder defended his big blind. The two chip leaders checked through the 1098 flop and Q turn, prompting Binder to bet 275,000 on the 9 river.

Djian snap-called with AJ for a straight, besting the 95 of Binder to overtake him in the counts.

Oshri Lahmani Eliminated in 8th Place (€99,450)

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante
Oshri Lahmani
Oshri Lahmani

David Djian raised to 250,000 in the cutoff. Oshri Lahmani was next to act on the button, and three-bet all in for 2,650,000. Djian requested a count, calling shortly after confirming the amount.

Oshri Lahmani: JJ All in
David Djian: 88

Lahmani had a double-up in sight after the 335 flop and K turn brought no help for Djian.

Djian erupted in celebration as the river fell the 8, however. His full house won him the pot, moving him up to second place on the leaderboard and eliminating Lahmani in the process.
