How Rayan Nathan Took the Chip Lead

Shortly after the dinner break, Nathan bet out on a {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop holding {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. His opponent raised, Nathan moved him all in, and his opponent called, tabling the {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw. The turn was a diamond, making his opponent's flush, but the river paired the board giving Nathan the winning full house and sending his stack up to 37,000.

Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, Nathan won the $5,200 buy-in Melbourne Texas Hold'em Championships this past April, taking home $78,000. He had three cashes at this summer's WSOP, all in hold'em events and also cashed at the Season 3 EPT Grand Final Monte Carlo.

Table Talk: Phil Gordon

Phil Gordon
Phil Gordon
One player sitting to Phil Gordon's left appears to be a novice. He has been picking up his cards to look at them instead of the usual bend and peek method adopted by most players. He's been playing any face card and has been tossing out the wrong chips. Ironically enough, he's still holding his own.

"He's one of the worst players I have ever seen. Top 5 definitely," said Phil Gordon.
