In case they haven't filled up already on the assorted treats passed around by the generous valets or smuggled in by players, our remaining high-rolling runners will very shortly be heading off on a 40-minute dinner break.
Chris Ferguson open-shoved for his last few thousand. Juha Helppi to his left thought about it for some time, but passed. Peter Neff reraised all in, everyone else got out of their way, and they turned their cards over.
Ferguson:
Neff:
Board:
With a handshake and a nod, Ferguson made a gentlemanly exit. Juha Helppi was wondering what Neff would have done if he had called Ferguson's all in; Neff confesses he would have folded. Turns out Helppi was holding and would have won the hand, had he made the call.
Michael Watson raised from the button and Max Pescatori reraised from the small blind. A further raise from Watson and a call from Pescatori later, they turned their cards over and awaited the community cards.
Soren Kongsgaard raised to 4,000 under the gun, most of his stack. it folded around to Praz Bansi in the small blind, who threw 6,000 in, enough to cover Kongsgaard -- but short of a minimum raise, and with the big blind yet to act. All the players agreed that Soren was all in, Praz was calling and the big blind was folding, but to the annoyance of all at the table, the dealer insisted on calling the floor over for a ruling anyway.
Some moments later, on their backs:
Bansi:
Kongsgaard:
Someone, possibly Ilari Sahamies, was calling for an eight.
Board:
Thus with a handshake, we are down one Kongsgaard.
