Adams Attacking the Limper

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

After Mammad Afandiyev limped in for 600, Timothy Adams raised to 2,400. Action folded around the table and back to Afandiyev, and he made the call to see the flop come out {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Afandiyev checked, Adams bet 3,000, and Afandiyev called.

The turn was the {2-Clubs}, and both players checked to see the {2-Spades} pair the board on the river. Both players checked again.

Afandiyev showed the {A-Spades}{9-Spades}, and Adams showed the {Q-Spades}{4-Spades} for the winning hand.

Two Players With One Hand

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

Doug Polk was seated to Marvin Rettenmaier's right, but he was missing in action. We asked his other former neighbor Angel Guilen what had happened.

Guillen told us that Polk was already short when he called a raise. Marvin Rettenmaier behind him squeezed, and Polk committed his 6,000. Rettenmaier and the other player ended up all in as well and a three-way all in was there.

Polk had {Q-}{9-} suited, and was up against {A-}{K-} (Rettenmaier) and {J-}{J-} (initial raiser). Rettenmaier eliminated both other players after hitting, and Polk and the other player made their exit.

Out of Position is the Best Position for Danzer

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

With {5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} on the table, it was George Danzer betting 2,700 from the big blind. Benny Spindler folded right behind him, Akin Tuna folded, and Lasse Frost raised it up to 6,400 from the cutoff. Danzer made the call.

The {7-Spades} completed the board and with a straight on the board, Danzer shoved all in. This gave Frost a little bit of a headache, and it was the table pretty clear that he was playing the board.

After minutes of thinking, he eventually folded.

"I had the best position," laughed Danzer, "but I have it a lot to!"

Li Takes from Larrabe

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

World Series of Poker November Niner Andoni Larrabe saw a flop with Yingui Li after each player put in 2,600 preflop. The flop came down {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and Larrabe check-called a bet of 2,200 from Li.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, and that paired the board. Both players checked, and the river was the {8-Diamonds}. Larrabe checked, and Li bet 2,000. Larrabe called.

Li showed the {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, and Larrabe mucked his hand.

Govert Metaal limped in from early position, and Vitaly Lunkin isolated right behind him from middle position. All other players folded, but Metaal wasn't calling or folding, he had a different trick up his sleeve. Metaal limp reraised and Lunkin called in position.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Metaal bet out 3,500. Lunkin raised it up to 8,225 and Metaal made the call. Metaal check called another 10,400 on the {K-Clubs}-turn, and the {Q-Diamonds} completed the board. Metaal pushed all in and Lunkin snap called for his remaining 25,200.

Metaal was pretty confident with his {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}, but those two beautiful cards would soon be put face down into the muck as Lunkin showed {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.
