Wang Doubles Through Mizrachi

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

After getting up to 165,000, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi just lost 10,575 back after doubling up Chaofei Wang.

Wang was all in preflop for that amount with the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} against the three-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner's {A-Spades}{7-Spades}. The flop, turn, and rive ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts} to give Wang a full house and double him up.

Mizrachi was left with approximately 154,000.

Exposing an Opportunity

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Olivier Busquet
Olivier Busquet

With one player already all in, there were still three players involved when the dealer put out a {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board. The action was checked around to Andrew Chen who bet 4,500. Olivier Busquet called and Daniel Ades thought for about a minute before he folded, accidently exposing {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} as a result. The {2-Clubs} went check-check and Busquet fired 13,000 on the {J-Clubs} river. Chen quickly folded and Busquet turned over {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. The all-in player was blind and turned over {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and, having been unable to catch anything, was eliminated as a result.

"You bet the turn if he doesn't show that?" asked Busquet.

Chen replied to the affirmative, mentioning the fact that he also had ace-king.

"You bet if I check?"

"No," Chen answered.

Malherbe's Full House No Good

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With a board of {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, Shannon Shorr had 2,350 in front of him. Jean-Yves Malherbe, who went deep the 2012 and 2013 WSOP Main Event, check raised to 5,600. Shorr made the call in position.

The river paired the board again with the {7-Hearts}, and Malherbe bet out 2,200. Shorr raised it up to 5,900, and Malherbe reluctantly called.

Shorr showed {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Malherbe open mucked his {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

Davey In Gravy

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Daragh Davey
Daragh Davey

Daragh Davey is one of just four players representing Ireland on Day 1A of the Main Event here in Barcelona. He was involved in a four way flop that saw the dealer spread {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Davey checked from the small blind and Souprayenmestry Jean made it 1,500 from the big blind. The under-the-gun player then raised to 3,600 and the fourth player in the hand looked like he had a decision to make but decided to let it go.

The action was back on Davey who sprung a four-bet to 6,500. Jean was undeterred by this turn of events and promptly moved in. The other players got out of the way and Davey made the call with {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was up against the {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} of Jean.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the river came the {4-Diamonds}. Jean couldn't hit his straight draw and was eliminated while a welcome pot was pushed the way of Davey.

Diaz Dumped

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

The tournament is over for Adrian Mateos Diaz, the European Rookie of the Year was all in for his final 6,000 preflop with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} but Vasili Firsau made the call with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and won on a {10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts} board.

Jensen Keeps on Firing

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Frederik Jensen opened for 700, and neighbor Kent Lundmark made the call in the hijack. The player in the big blind squeezed to 2,600 and the action was back on Jensen. The EPT Madrid winner five bet to 5,600 and Lundmark folded rather quickly. The big blind seemed in doubt, but called after some thinking.

The big blind carefully checked to Jensen on {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and the Dane bet 4,300. The big blind tossed in the necessary chips to call, and check called another 6,000 after the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn.

The {Q-Clubs} fell on the river, and the big blind checked with about 12,000 behind. Jensen thought for about a minute, and then pushed 22,000 to the middle to put his opponent all in.

The big blind thought for a bit, and folded with a disappointed face.
